Just ordered an OEM bed step

Yes that is what I learned.

 

This is how mine looks. Didn't realize there was more than one spot to mount it.

 

I had to get rid of mine, couldn’t stand the look of it hanging down and only used it once in a year.

 

I certainly did not install this for the aesthetics, but it sure does come in handy for us older folks. BTW, I think that "two position" statement is referring to the x-axis position of the step piece on the assembly, not what side of the truck you can mount it on. You can situate the step piece where is sticks out a bit further from the body of the truck so it's easier to get your foot on it to deploy it. I don't think the assembly can be mounted on the passenger side.

 

Yes just driver side. Definitely great for my knees.

 

You’re supposed to open it by placing your foot along the side. It actually has several grooves as seen below on the side where you’re supposed to place your foot. You can lower it by placing your foot at other locations but it doesn’t open easily as it does when you open it as designed.

 

I need to pick one of these up. Maybe I'll get lucky and see one on fb marketplace or CL.

 

I have the OEM one and find it very useful, especially in the garage where it's tight behind the bumper w/ the door down. Installation instructions attached. It's quick and easy. OEM instructions state driver's side and doesn't mention more than one position.

 

love mine, very handy whether tailgate is up or down...

Cool, I've been wanting to get this for awhile now. Looks like the OEM is cheaper than the AMP best step.

 

It was a couple of years ago, but the funny thing was it was on there for almost a week before I saw it. I was working out of state and had my son buy it for me or I would have missed it. I use mine all the time as I’m old and fat.

 

Love this step great add on for sure if your using your truck

 

Hell you could have bought it at that price and resold it and doubled your money!
