ah, this one sounds the least expensive and still looks good. it will be cheap to do, and even if i have to touch up chips, it will still be cheap to do. win-win! getting it professionally painted will cost more, there will still be chips eventually no matter who painted it, so then i would have to pay the guy again to fix the chips! i think i might just do it all myself with some of that bedliner/undercoating type stuff.
yeah, i think black will look good on my white truck, especially since i'm kind of going for a "black and white" look. that color match to the bumper and fenders looks good! would have looked a little off with the black on the greyish bumper. good choice.
ha, well that's why they are the professionals then i guess. they know more than most of us.

Yeah powder coating is always awesome but it will still chip eventually. I just wanted to do it myself and it wasnt really that hard to be honest. Just time consuming for the most part. That and the fact I saved lots of money!:D

I'm looking into getting one of these too. Good choice.

One question though, how is it mounted? Just mounted in 2 places from underneath, like a bull bar? Or is there 2 more mounts higher up to give it rigidity?

yeah, i doubt i will powder coat because i have the same issue. this is the first place i've even heard of "powder coating," so i doubt there is one anywhere near here. even if there is a place that does it, with a low demand for it, the price will probably be crazy. i'll look into it, but probably will end up doing it myself.

not sure what you're asking here. how they actually heat the bar up to powdercoat? i'm not sure. some of these guys should know and will pipe in soon.

yeah, they seem like a quality product and look great too. i don't know specifically where it is mounted. like you, all i know is that it's mounted somewhere behind the bumper/near the skid plate, or something like that. i do believe it is more rigid than the bull bar, and more practical. these guys that have one already will know and have an answer for you.

i actually just searched for some places that may do powder coating near here. for whatever reason, in a town with a population of 3800 and in the middle of nowhere, we have a place that does powder coating and sandblasting. the next nearest ones were about 50 miles away. some luck for me, ha! i'm guessing that they would powder coat this thing for me to make a few bucks. they do lots of metal work like gates, grills, smokers, signs, stair railings, horse stalls, ornamental pieces, etc. i'll call tomorrow and see, but hopefully so.

yeah, it sounds like i may get it powder coated after all. and it's all good, i figured you just took something i said the wrong way, but i didn't take any offense.

ok, the exchange rate is pretty much the same right now. 1USD is at like .9784CAD. pretty much $150 for me too, so i'll keep that in mind.

Looks like I'm a couple days late for this one.
I guess I'll reiterate, with mine.

WW FIREFIGHTER's gave me some incentive also. Thanks

    I ordered mine 2010/05/06. Test fit 2010/05/29. 23 Days
Color Match Powder Coated it. Cost me more than the Light Bar.
Powder Coating took another couple weeks
    Included:
    Sandblasting, Degreasing
Primer Powder Coat - Oven Baked
Color (Base) Powder Coat - Oven Baked
Clear Coat Powder Coat - Oven Baked
AND IT WILL STILL CHIP !!! Can't Touch It Up
I don't believe you can repair chipped Powder Coat
IMO - Powder Coat Not for Off Roading.
My Powder Coater has been in business 20 yrs.
His work is awesome, to match his price.
If you go this route, get it done right.

Rattle Can can be touched up daily

Spray Bed Liner, Undercoating, etc. I would think is good for Off Road.
But I have no first hand knowledge of the application.
And the only Off Roading I do is almost always preceded with a loud "OH SHIT !!!"

    2 Person Job - 1/2 hour +/-
Have someone stand and hold the Light Bar, in place.
After removing 4 nuts off frame front end (2 each side)
Light Bar held in place will point out the nuts.
Have "helper" holding weight, slide light bar on studs, with you lining up
Lay under truck or work thru (removed) grill opening and remount nuts.
    42 ft/lb Torque, iirc

Finally, and again, I had one of the most positive buying experiences, I can remember.
