Wanted to share with you guys that my Taco just hit 200k today and is still going strong...if not stronger.. Runs and drives better than any 50k mile vehicle I have owned!

    I have an 05 Tacoma Prerunner 4.0

200,098 miles to be exact! LOL

engine compartment is bone dry with no leaks!

Has a K&N air filter and I change fluids with Mobil 1 High mileage 5w 30

I dont abuse my truck but I do use it.

I am sold on the tacoma..I will never own another brand!

    Cheers guys..Happy new Year!

Awesome! I'm at 35k and hope to be able to get 200k out of mine with no issues. Trucks paid off so I'd like to enjoy this as long as possible before having to replace it.

I have had almost no problems with it! Just the occasional brake pads etc.

Half the miles I would say are long distance and the other is back and forth to work in town driving..

It rides like new and still get asked if its a new truck.

IMHO Toyota makes one of the best drive trains available

    Thanks

Great news, my 08 just turned 55,000. Hoping for 250,000 out of it. My wife's 02 forerunner has 205,000 trouble free miles on it now.

Yes, at over 200K is it time to change the oil :poke:

My first truck was an 1984 Toyota 5spd, 2WD base model (no AC), with 36K on it. It had 197K on it when it was totaled in a wreck (not my fault, no one hurt). That sold me on Toyota trucks. I only had to replce the alternator twice, and the water pump once. I replaced the timing chain at 157K.

No wheel bearing issues at all! I ve owned 2 TRD Sports both with 120k miles or so...and this one runs and drives better!

I think the older they get...the better they perform..

    Thanks

    Quick question for you...

Did you do anything to the motor mounts / frame? Not sure if you've seen the threads around talking about the motor mounts "punching" though the frame or not (2005/06 specific issue). Just wondering if you did some preventive maintenance a while back to mitigate the possibility of motor mount / frame failure. I have a 2005 and have been looking into getting some gussets welded in for peace of mind, but am wondering if it's really worth it with only using the truck as a highway commuter?!?!?

It's nice seeing your truck hit the 200k mark though! Are you the original owner?

I have done nothing like that to the truck..Honestly.

All the preventive maintenece that I do is oil, brakes, coolant..etc

I guess ive been lucky lol. I really think this one was built on a Wednesday LOL

I say drive it till it quits! :)

    Thanks
