Just installed my K & N air charger intake... clean and simple install for the most part except that my pipe was a bit flawed/un even on the surface where the MAF sensor plugs in, had to use some clear silicone caulk to get a better seal... overall impressions are impressive, while i dont feel the large gains shown on K & N's dyno sheet, throttle response is vastly improved and she doesnt have the tendency to bog down when accelerating in lower rpms...

-having a slight problem now with a loud rattling sound when the throttle goes from closed to open during acceleration from a dead stop... also the intake seems to "shotgun" to life when I turn the truck on.

looks sweet, i got the same one installed on my truck...
i had the same sound too, i just moved the assembly and boot a bit further away from that black firewall or heat shield wutever it is and it cleared that issue up real quick.
yeah it does shotgun to life i like to wait for it go down to normal it makes a cool hissing noise like a turbo or sumthin.
overall its a sweet mod i have no complaints.

...ill let you know on the mileage.

Lookes like relocating the filter worked! No more vibrations, and it doesnt shotgun on startup anymore. Thanks for the help.

btw... that little tan bump on the MAF sensor... It looked like caked on dirst or something... its a factory sealant to cover up some sort of port on the sensor... had to re-cover it up with silicone. Curiosity almost cost me.
