Wanted to create a thread to share transport ideas on Kayak fishing and how you get your stuff around.

Here's an idea that im tossing around.
People make secure rod carriers out of 8" PVC and these guys:

    https://www.amazon.com/Buyers-Produ...214&sr=8-1&keywords=pvc+pipe+locking+cap&th=1

    ending up with this:

what i am planning on doing is getting these, and mounting it inside the bed rail using the quick fists.

    https://www.relentlessfabrication.c...cts/05-tacoma-bed-rail-dual-quick-fist-mounts

i think it will fit nicely right next to the Kayak in the bed. Hopefully if i ever get a bed cover it all should fit under it.

Please share your stuff also if you have some cool ideas.

I love kayaking, but there are at least 5 or more threads about the same thing. You may get more input on those since most have been around for years.

How long is your kayak? I carry a canoe on top of my canopy roof rack. I'd never considered tying it in the bed.

You should really get the hitch brace for the kayak to support some of the load. It’ll help save your kayak from deforming on the beam. Basically it attaches to the hitch and puts a support about 2 feet out so your not flexing the kayak.

Link to other thread? Same reason why I'm trading my X5 for the 4x4 Taco. Me and my 12 yr old son got into kayaking/fishing last year and loving it since we are finding so many water ways here in Sacramento Delta.
