We offered to pay for expediting. He said the post office doesn't offer it and that he sent it Priority Mail - which would arrive in 1-2 days. The package clearly shows that he lied and sent it 3 day. Either way - this was his error and items should've been expedited! If it was my error...that's an entirely different story.

IKR, it’s ridiculous to assume something will be right the first time or even made right the second.

    Silly kids...

I'm glad I found this thread since I was about to pull the trigger on the bed bars/rack.

Can anyone share a reputable alternative to KB bed bars that retain the functionality of the tonneau cover? looking for a low mounting solution for a RTT.

    Thanks,

I haven’t seen any, but I’d honestly feel safer with normal bed bars from CBI, C4, RCI, etc. that are planted against the bedsides.. but that’s me.

You also don’t exactly retain functionality, or just stays covered I believe. I don’t think you can fold it up with them installed.

You should check out @victory4x4. Their rack is awesome and so is their customer service! IVe got a couple of products from them and i keep buying them cause i have an awesome experience every time. Even got a phone call from one of their reps saying my order was on the way. Left some bolts off my order and shipped em the next day. Would recommend 100%. Plus rack look BA. Lowest lead times out there as well. They have been in the aftermarket scene for a while now, Since 2003 mainly with jeep parts but recently got into tacomas.Plus they give out discounts and their stuff is already very well priced to begin with. Heres some pics of the rack on my truck.

Well shit guys...I have a KB Voodoo bed rack halfway here from NY and ya'll just took 60% of the wind out of my sails with all this rust and general shit talking. Damn it. My experience this far has been good. Chads given me really really fast responses to my questions, shipped the product ahead of schedule, and kicked me a 40$ off coupon prior to ordering.

I trust your experiences as they've been shared here but I am going to give KB a chance here to make a good impression. Again, so far, i'm pleased but we'll see what happens once I receive it. I just hope all the components are there in full...ugh. Sucks to spend 1k on a rack only to go a read all the shitty experiences here. Just wanted a bed rack with ability to work w/ a diamondback bed tonneau and this was the only real option for such a thing.

Rack shows up Monday...more to come then...

I think you’ll love it. I love mine. He’s updated the powder coating from what I’ve heard so if you’re getting a new one you’re likely gtg. Yea he’s super responsive via email.

Sounds like he made it right to me... I mean if he didn’t replace the part within a few days I would say differently.

I think the issue with shipping is that the aluminum bars aren't shipped directly from him; they're dropped shipped from elsewhere. I know that was the case when I bought my KB rack. He didn't mention that the steel bits and the aluminum bars would arrive separately so that was a bit of a letdown when I opened up the box expecting to assemble it.

and X1,000 on the crappy powdercoat! It started to crack and flake off while I was assembling the rack. I should have stopped and stripped it from there but I was lazy at the time. I'd rather it came unfinished rather than with what's more like that crackly chocolate ice cream topping than powdercoat. I still might do strip and refinish the steel bits if I decide to keep it but I have to find another lightweight Softopper-compatible rack.

Ouch!!! Yea mine’s fine except some of the edges wear a bit. I guess that’s Arizona benefits...

    My solution.

Haha. The Voodoo really isn't bad once it's repainted. The best case would be if he just shipped them raw.

    Because it’s Friday....

We all love a good rack. What makes a rack even better is if the service is top notch.

OP offered to pay for expedited shipping. If you had an issue with Amazon and reached out to online chat reps I bet you could easily convince Amazon to speed up the shipping.
