    Got another flat tire last week. Actually the same tire that was punctured last summer. Was able to plug it and all good again. New tires arrived on 12/1 and will be installed on Mon.

    Test fit one of my 33s as a spare to see if I could keep one in the spare location under the bed. It fit but was really tight. Touched the exhaust and the leaf hangers and the trailer hitch and also hung low. Decided against it since its never been needed and just aired up the 13 year old dunlap original spare. I expected it to be dryrotted but looked ok. Maybe because it's not in direct sunlight.

    Also replaced my fog light bulb as it was broken. Like actually bent off the base. No idea how that happened.

    Got my cat security https://www.getcatsecurity.com/c-tacoma-9 installed yesterday. Went fairly smoothly. Only 7/16" drill bit I had (4 new holes for threaded anchor nuts) was long so I had to jack up the front end a bit so the drill would fit between the ground and frame. Anyway, seems like pretty nice hunk of metal and should deter thieves enough to move on.

    So this was weird....(happened May 5). Noticed my passenger rear tire was nearly flat. Only had 10 psi. So I aired up to 30 psi and inspected for a screw or nail. Nothing. Couldn't even hear a leak. Left it alone four 4-5 hrs and checked pressure again. Still holding at 30 psi. Drove it like 50 miles and still fine.

    Only thing I can think of to explain it is that a few days ago I let some air out now that the weather is warming up. They were up to 37 psi due to the warmth. Felt like driving a cement truck. Wondering if the valve stem got stuck slightly open and thats how I lost pressure.

    Still fine as of today. No idea how I lost so much pressure. Can't imagine it happened slowly as I feel like I would have noticed while driving if one tire was that low. So that kind of invalidates my first guess about the valve being stuck after lowering the pressure a few days prior.

    Oddity to note from anothers truck: So my non-electrically-savy self figured out a hack on mine, but YMMV. Since doing the swap, everytime my battery is disconnected for any longer than like 30 seconds or a minute or so, the AC button doesn't work when I turn the truck back on. What worked for me was removing the new AC panel, plugging in the original 2006 AC panel, turning the AC on (which then functions perfectly), removing the 2006 AC panel, and reinstalling the new AC panel. This seems to make the system recognize the new AC panel or something, idk, but it works for me.

    Started on the black dash finally. Ordered the black dash vent surround. Found one on ebay in excellent condition for $87. Should be arriving next week. Next is to find a black hazzard button/clock assembly and the hvac controls.

    Vent surround arrived last week. Looks to be in great shape. Just cleaned out the dust from the vents and good to go. Couple days ago I ordered a new dash kit from Amazon (
    $41 TA2111B Compatible with 2012-15 Toyota Tacoma ISO Double DIN & DIN+Pocket Dash Kit Black
    TA2111B) for the HU I already have. Maybe not doing the Dasaita HU right away. Also, today ordered a HVAC contol unit from car-part.com. Once that arrives, I will look into the wire harness and make sure I got that harness built and working before I order the clock/hazzard button unit. Too bad the button isn't removable as it's the only part that is not black on the whole assembly.

    Messed up and ended up with 3 different dash kits. 2 for the 2012+ which don't really match up with the vent surround but I like how they look better and one that's for the earlier 2nd gen but has the dimples.
