On my way this morning for the hunting spot I went through this sketchy gravel road. On that way there is one tight turn that can become dangerous very quick if you drive too fast and don't know it. This morning, the turn was pure ice! So glad I had my winter tires! Pumped my brakes a few times and then let the truck go. Grabbed a little traction and when I hit a sand patch, recovered the straight line, and then drifted on the other side! Damn crappy road! I was going like 40km/h lol. Came out that turn ok, glad no one was coming from the other side! On my way back, right at this spot, there was a chevy in the ditch!:devil:A guy in a Ford was already stopped to help, but I stopped also! Waht a luck for them! They didn't had any recovering gear! Took my newly bought strap! I let the guy with the ford pull him out tho, no pics to respect that young chevy driver haha.

Lessons learned, all seasons tires are crap, get real snow/ice tires, carry recovering gear, and I need to buy more shakles and to put a recovery hook in front and a hitch shackle in the back! Straps without tow point are useless!

You're better than that! At the very least find a big old hook off an off road.

I've never noticed if Offroads in Canada has the tow hook instead of the crappy bolted thing... will check this out!

This that and the other thing.
Well I know mine had 2 points on the front, there is a crappy welded loop and a bolted on tow hook. I replaced the bolt on with the BPF one so I have an extra stock bolt on one, actually I have 2 cuz taczilla gave me one too

I need to do this as well. Unfortunately mine will only be cans of Fluid Film and me crawling under to apply everywhere as much as possible.

Good morning! Me and mu GF babysitted a 1y/o for the night... what a crappy night we had!!

sounds like a plan! I used to do it with "recycled" engine oil but it dripped everywhere after and it takes long to spray all the spots you want. Guy at the shop takes like 20mins and its done like a pro!

Haha wasn't the first time we babysit that little boy but he has flu or something, not nice haha
sure! You still in Kansas? How are the winter there? I don't know much about fluid film, so I don't know if it holds well on harsh winters

haha I know the troubles don't last for long. Can't wait to have kids at 2 years old haha would gladly skip the diapers and crying!

In prevision of winter I bought two Michelin retractable snow shovel, one in the truck and one for the Fit. 24$ for the pair, fully aluminum. Happy with it! Will also be useful for the atv when riding off track haha
