This that and the other thing.
I'll buy one the day it won't start on a cold day and the battery is good. It's a taco, doesn't need no block heater lol *knock on wood* hahaha I looked into it in the past but I had no issues with it starting last winter. I heard a myth that once u start plugging it in, then u can't stop lol

Haha that myth is fake lol it is not a matter of being hard to start, but mostly to make it warm up faster. Instead of leaving it idle 10minutes i'll just start it and go lol

Maybe because Canadians need it more? Something about supply and demand? No idea, but that’s great!

Did you find out if there was any special process and coolant type for the flush?

    :hattip: Good evening!
Yea maybe! Didn't thought of that! Before a lot of vehicles were coming with it already installed tho. Now they don't even say that it could be available lol glad TW exists!
there is a few threads on it so this is what it got from it:

    - Flush the rad from the valve on the bottom
    - flush the block from the valve near the oil filter
-fill the rad with distilled water and turn on the engine, let it warm up so the thermostat opens and let the water circulate
-flush the water, which mixed with the coolant still in the engine
    -refill with new coolant

Seems kinda easy. While the engine will be drained from coolant I'll be able to pop a frost plug and install the block heater.

Did the coolant flush today and the installation of the block heater. What a PITA!

Steps are simple, but not easy! Draining the rad was easy, but the drain screw on the engine is seized... didn't wanted to force it and break it so I left it there, refilled the rad with distilled water, made it circulate and reflush.

    Now for the heater...:annoyed:
    1. Have to take off the passenger wheel to have enough room to work on the side of the engine. If forgot my "key" for the anti theft nut, went back home with my father's truck.

    2. Poped the frost plug to replace it with the heater. Since I wasn't able to drain the block, I made a mess with coolant when I poped it.

    3. Put the lubricant on the O ring and insert it in the block, noticed something, the fking Oring ripped off :annoyed:now I am screwed!

    4. But! My father's neighbor is a mechanic! Went to see him and he let me borrow him his O ring kit! What a nice guy! Put a O ring, installed it, refill coolant, start the truck, IT LEAKS! Damn it!:annoyed:

    5. Popped the heater, another coolant mess.

    6. Put a bigger O ring, installation goes like shit, we had to be 2 to push on the heater with screwdrivers so it sits even all around, and tighten the screw in the same time! We got it! Damn thing.

    6. Refill coolant, NO LEAKS! But also no heat....

    7. I did a little ride around the neighborhood and Voila! Heat is back!

What a day! I was pretty close to pitch that heater in the garbage and put back the frost plug! But now i am glad I can plug my truck for cold days!

That is what I was thinking lol neighbor would have tried to cash in on a big repair or just taken out his phone to record you while you suffered. Or better yet accuse you of sexual harassment. This last one is the current flavor of the month

Yeah I've helped a few people out I saw on the side of the road get help. One I was able to fix their car for them. People in general do want to help each other these days.
