2 days ATV trip report: pics will follow at the end if the report

Me and a couple friends had a trip planned for the 2-3 of Janurary. We decided to do it, no matter what, because after that the holidays wil end and some are going back to work/school.

It all started with a morning at -30*C. My Atv is already loaded on the trailer, and won't start...(I tried before I left). Said Screw it, I'll boost it ar my friend's cottage. A text from another friend say: don't leave to fast, the truck won't start lol. Here we goooo!!! Haha

We finally all make it to the cottage. We use a booster pack to start my atv and my buddy's utv. The 2 others are fine because they were in the garage the night before lol. It is cold AF! By the time we get ready, we leave at noon. Kinda late to do a ride of 200km lol

After a few hours, we are getting hungry. We stop at Duhamel, the deer village, where deers walk in the streets lol. It is 3:30 pm. We want to stop at a restaurant to have lunch and also warm up a bit, but the only restaurant there closed at 3 lol dammit! We leave the village and stop at a huting/fishing outfitter still open with a restaurant, yeah! We get lunch, and by the time we leave it is getting dark. We still have a couple hours of ride to do. It is still cold AF! And trails are slippery due to a small quantity of snow and the cold (did I said it was cold AF?). The ride is still fun tho, until I lose traction in a turn (my tires are not the greatest in snow). I tried to transform the lose of traction into a controlled drift. No success. I met the trees! Fuck! I jumped off the atv when I saw them coming. I wasn't going very fast at the end but still, bumper on left side went back, crushed my (cold af) plastic fender and bust it. Damn! Buddy takes me out with his winch, I take a small look at damages. Bumper, fender, one mirror, and cracked plastic windshield. (Windshield has hand guards so it go hit too). Atv still runs good and no injury, so we go on.

We stop at another small village to have gas and grab some drinks at the grocery store. Gas station is close (wtf), so we go to the grocery. When we came out, my friend's utv won't start, like a dead battery. Wtf, we rode all day! We tried to boost him with a battery we brought with us in case it happens. Nothing. Tried to boost with a running atv, nothing. We worked around for like an hour and a haf to finally call a towing... the utv went back at the cottage on a flatbed lol. My buddy finished the ride riding shotgun in the other utv lol.

By the time we got to the shack we were camping in, it was pretty late lol, we had a drink, hot dogs and went to bed.

Today was a great day! Hotter than yesterday, all atvs fired up easy. The ride was awesome, no problems! I think I got a cold tho lol

My atv is now in the garage. I'll take a look at it tomorrow and work on it to repair what I can. The rest will be scares haha

Nothing more brittle than frozen plastic. Luckily no damage to yourself. I am certain you will have it as good as new soon

I'll try my best to fix it with what I have, to prevent the plastic to crack further, but I will still have that hole in the fender lol. I might get a new piece of plastic some day but those things are pricy!
the ride was awesome tho! Sure I was pissed after the "crash" but since I was not injured and the atv was still running I found my fun back haha and yesterday weather was really better, and the trails more smooth.

I was in bed and asleep by 8! I’m back on day shift for the next two weeks so had to adjust my sleep accordingly. Plus I was whooped from installing a lift in 20° weather.
