A buddy came to me and asked if I could install a dvd/navi unit for him. He said he'd like it to play dvd's and be able to adjust the navigation on the fly like i can my pioneer. The problem is this, I cant find anything about this particular model or kenwood in general, and I cant quite figure out if the relay operated by the remote wire will work or if there is more to the brake sequence than that. Anyone own this particular model, or any newer kenwood, know how to bypass the video lockout? My buddy sure would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks TW!

    YES!!
On my Kenwood DNX 7100, all I did was ground the parking brake wire (Green I think), and I am able to work the navi and dvd on the fly. I don't know about the newer models though.

Pioneer avic-z130bt with axxess aswc and rear cam mod, audiovox 10 flip down monitor, Pyle pl76d headrest monitors, kicker cvr tens wired down to one ohm with hifonics Brutus 1200.1, Clazzio seat covers, 20% tint on front windows, polished factory exhaust, peragon retractable bed cover, pop n lock tailgate handle with dei actuators for automatic lock, viper 5901 alarm remote start with viper smart start, hid bixenon 4500k headlights with 4500k fog lights, led map license plate lights and dome lights
it will work just ground the parking brake wire from the kenwood the light green wire, i do it all the time, i have the 6160 and ive installed the newer ones as well....usually only pioneer and alpine do you have to do extra wiring for dvd, bluetooth, navi bypass and of course jensen/dual/phase linear theres a code you gonna have to put in but eh
