Pop it open with a small screw driver, its dummy proof. Remove the slide key from the fob and pry.

i used the slide key to open it. to me, it looked like the notch perpendicular to the keyslot was made to insert said key and twist.

Mine has gone off on vacation and still lasted 4 days. Might have gone longer but I but changed them out before it died died. And I waited because I have a Meso fob and didn’t have an Allen wrench to change. I have everything in my truck now for next time. And have three fobs

This is were I would use the spare remote and change the battery on the bad one, and keep it as a spare.

Cool. I've had my truck for 50 months now and my dash is giving me the low battery warning for the fob.

For all those who have replaced the battery after getting this message, did you have your battery tested? I’m getting the “key battery low” message when using either of my key fobs. Took one in to a hardware store to get a replacement battery and the guy tested it. Said it was almost fully charged and didn’t need to be replaced. I bought one anyways but have been using the original for months with that error message popping up each time

For the 50 cents a 2032 costs I'd just replace it.

I had the low battery msg today.

Had it about a month ago too. Seems to happen when it is really cold and the fob isn't in a warm pocket.

A battery that's 3.2mm thick and 20mm in diameter should fit just fine.
