Hey guys, new Tacoma owner here. I've been trolling the boards but I'm not finding the exact answers I need so I thought I would ask a few questions in one shot.

    Question 1
I got the truck used with no original keys and of course no remote keyless entry remotes.

First, how can I tell if it is equipped with the Factory keyless entry system and second, how do I program a remote once I buy it?

Here's some info on the vehicle

    2002 Tacoma XtraCab SR5 - 5 spd 2.4L 4cyl
    Power Windows
    Power Doorlocks

    Question 2
According to a local truck accesories retailer, Westin is not making any nerf step bars for the 2WD Xtracab (only 4WD) so how can I determine if I can get these?

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Any info would be great...

What model Tacoma are we talking about? TRD? On your dash should be a red bulb that would blink if the keyless entry is engaged.

If your truck has been equipped with keyless, go to ebay and buy the clickers. They usually provide the steps to program your keyless entry. If not, I will post the instructions.

little late to this thread... but the keyless entry for a 2002 is almost impossible to find. and info as to whether they were made for this year is shady, the factory junk can mount to it, but needs a special harness... and they are really impossible to find. if your wanting keyless, then you will have to buy a aftermarket one. i did this on mine, using the $30 bulldog security system from samsclub.com hope this helps
