This might sound dumb but.. I have recently joined the Tacoma world with a purchase of a 2004 Taco double cab. Did notice it does not have a key fob and would like to know what i would need to make it a keyless entry.

Probably not that difficult to do as long as you have electronic locks. I am sure your local car audio shop can hook you up.

Edit: I searched Amazon and there are a bunch of inexpensive solutions if you want to do it yourself.

How do you determine if you have electronic locks (I know dumb question) in my 2003 it takes a key to unlock each front door. I've seen several Youtube videos where all they did was do the wiring of the control box and that was it (Here's the search for the video)
How install Keyless entry on 2001-2004 tacoma for only $14 in 10 minutes!
I purchased the Remote Central Door locking system with 4 door locks and control box. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    I used this - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JWCHQWQ.
Install inside the door, tap into the door lock connector.
I had to run one wire to the hazard lights switch to enable turn signals to flash for lock/unlock.
Kit comes with two blank keys, Home Depot (and probably other big stores) cut them for free.

With that said, if your car has the factory remote/alarm ECU - check in the foot well, - you can order blank OEM remotes and program them. There're online instructions on a rather long sequence of lock/unlock/etc. steps, with various degree of success. More expensive route, but gives you OEM solution/looks (and alarm, I guess), if it matters.

I have one of the Amazon $20 kits. One of the best quality of life mods you can do imo
I did have to replace it a couple years ago, first kit lasted I think like 5 or so years before both the receiver box stopped working. For $20, I'll just keep replacing them as they fail lol
