Good. Less wear on the tailgate than the old mount, and much stiffer. The antenna actually sits plumb now.

If your doing it right, thicker powder isn't going to make a difference.

 

Spring is good for low branches and such. Quick release is good for garages. Get a heavy spring if you go that route. My 4ft fire stick is at a 45* Angle on the highway.

Just know that anytime you change the height of the antenna you change the tune.

Say you run the quick release daily and add a spring on for trail runs that will change the tuning.

May not make a big difference may cause your truck to explode. I'm no expert.

Anyone ever built a log home?

I'm in the home building market and just curious what the work after being made weather tight is like.

 

Just checked and it's a 42" deck, not the 48 as originally posted - I'll post back with my success/failure at getting it running this weekend...

 

Road debris blasted it off, probably need to sand blast em and coat them with an epoxy based paint, something that won’t chip as easily. My truck doesn’t get driven hard off-road, it’s my on-road office, can’t afford to break shit playin when I need it for workin.

 

Well that’s environmentaly conscientious
