I just got a response from Diamond. Just to let people know that they did not leave me hanging in the end.

“We likely typo'd the email address.
What were you looking for a quote on, and Ill get it right over!”

I responded that I’d already purchased an axle assembly but I would pass along whatever info he’d like me to.

    His reply:

“9.5" I can do 35 spline in either custom ARB locker, or a spool.
I can do 32 spline in few gear ratios
30 spline I can hit and retain sensors in a semi float application, using either stock Tacoma shafts and drums or stock fjc/4runner/gx470 shafts and disks, parking brake, and retain sensors.
We are getting close on custom width, retaining sensors front and rear, etc, with 1st production run in process currently, testing is completely done.”

I originally asked about a 9.5, do that’s the info I was given.

He didn’t give me a price, but since I’ve already ordered something, I’m not concerned with what the price would be.

I still don't know what will happen when I drive a lawn tractor up ramps hanging off my tailgate. Went to look at the mower last night and it was pretty clear that it had been run hard and put away wet -- for all 691 hours of its operating life. I told him it was rough and offered him a reduced price. "I think I have it priced right" he said, and you can probably guess what came next -- "two more people interested" yada yada. I suggested he sell it to them, thanked him for his time, and left empty handed.

I wonder how well JB Weld would work on a hydro casing...

Yep, crack in the hydrostatic transaxle casing. Not sure if I hit something or something inside broke; the dealer I went to says something inside, and I've been treating this machine the same way for 21+ years, so I tend to agree. But it kept going for quite a while because I have oil stripes all over the yard. So I'm going to try to seal up the leak and see if I can at least get through to the end of this season.

We weld cast iron at work on occasion. It's stupid and because we're desperate but shit usually holds up long enough for the new piece to show up.

I don't have easy access to welding facility and my skillz are STALE and never that great to begin with. As for mowing season for me it's more about the leaves. I'm usually hoovering up leaves from early September through the end of November.

My first car I drove through a mud puddle hit a rock and cracked the aluminum oil pan. We drained the oil. Wiped the crack off and jb welded it. It worked perfect for about 6yrs until the car was scrapped. Still can't believe it.
