Raystown Lake. This was one of the sites on the outer edge of the Point (PCAM) loop. Some good ones on that loop and also the Senioa (SENO) loop along the lake where you can put a kayak right in the water or take a dip. Main reason we go is to mountain bike though. Normally only allowed 2 camping units, doesn't matter how big though, but during DirtRag's DirtFest they don't enforce that limit.

    So a question for y'al,
Is it possible to convert my 2wd pre-runner ( aka- 1wd ) to a positraction, ( limited slip differential ) ? I'm thinking the axle housing can be re-used and just the internals up graded.

Unless, of course, someone tells me the pre-runners have that.

Any suggestions on manufacturer for a replacement diff? OR would a fwd tacoma diff work. I'm not much good beyond basic maintenance.:notsure:

    :lalala:

The earlier Second Gen Tacomas had a true limited slip rear diff. After a certain point, they’re all open diffs with simulated limited slip done with the brakes. I don’t remember when the cutoff was.

You could try to find a Factory true limited slip diff and swap it in.

You’d most likely be better off sending your current diff to East Coast Gear Supply and having them iststall a limited slip or selectable locker.

There is also the option of swapping in the entire axle housing and diff from a TRD OR model with an E-locker. That would require more work than you’d care to do most likely.

Just removing and swapping the rear Diff is not, IMO, beyond “basic mechanics”.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...d-installation-of-e-locker-3rd-member.193828/

The above link is for an E-locker rear, but it’s the same process, minus the electric motor and wires” for your diff. The whole diff comes out in a chunk like a Ford 9” does. You can pull the diff, send it out to be built, and reinstall without having to do any gear setup yourself.

Spent this morning getting my @CaliRaisedLed ditch lights (from TWSS) wired and new @CaliRaisedLed light bar mounted and wired. New switches mounted and tied into dimmer circuit. Now we wait til dark to get the ditch aimed properly. 20181230_142215.jpg 20181230_142227.jpg 20181230_142245.jpg

We were sitting by the fire at the cabin last night and Karen said “you can put a lift in the new garage in PA, can’t you?”

My reply? “Yes. Yes I can” :D
