Looks like there was already construction taking place on the portion of the road that hasn't collapsed. That will probably have to come down and all interstate traffic will have to be detoured. Hope the driver made it out.

Replaced my aging faded factory bed cover with a retraxpro rx, sold the factory one to the neighbor/coworker, now to pick up some cross rails and a basket or box. :spending::D

Finished the dog pen today. Add some red cedar chips like 20 bags of it to help keep the dust down. Went to petco to get mice for my snakes ended buying another snake. With them having a 75% off sticker on the tank I said yes sir. It's a California king snake probably 1.5 to 2 feet long. Very docile able to handle him or her. Don't know what sex it is. I'm up to 5 snakes now. Probably won't get anymore till I make more space for them. Eventually I'll be redoing my basement. I'll most likely make a room just for my reptiles.

    Just saw this… hot damn.

Not a good thing by any means, but the Northeast will now experience what happens when our aging infrastructure actually collapses.

    This is a big deal.

If you've lived around and commuted in Philly in the past 10 years you'd know this is not aging infrastructure but this section of I-95 was rebuilt within the past 10-15 years. It collapsed due to a burning vehicle of sort underneath combined with ruptured gas line travelling underneath.

I am aware of why it collapsed.

The point is more what happens if we allow our infrastructure to age as it has in many locations. The catastrophic effects of such a collapse.

The DOT has ultimate control, they will tell us where and when we can commute. Projects that take "years" to complete LOL, our government funded projects (aka grants that taxpayers fund anyhow) are a joke. 2 years to rebuild easily for some private contractor that could finish the job much quicker and of higher caliber. Too bad our government is paid by the hour and not the job, hence their "rapid" speed of progress.
