I found a set of king DSC Coilovers for my 2nd gen, and I’m wondering what I should use for shocks in the back.

I was hoping to do a 3” lift and had saved some money for 5100s. Currently I have spacers in the front and a toytec AAL in the rear. Once I get the Kings I should have about $300 left over.

What shocks would you guys buy if you were me?

Ah i see you stumbled on those King dsc ad. King does NOT make a dsc . King makes a regular compression adjuster. If its the craigslist ad its a scam. Fox makes the dual speed compression adjuster. Also heard some people were getting scammed by that guy.

There's a few craigslist scam ads for king shocks for 4runners and Tacomas right now. @Mully was just talking about one right now

If you're going to run 5100s in the back you might as well just run them in the font

Also don't buy the scam shocks

You guys wouldn’t believe it. It was totally a scam! If you were looking for a quality suspension lift for around $700-900 what would you do?

post the number up, I'm in california. Work is slow right now so I wouldn't mind playing the, "I live right down the street from you, no need to ship" game.

Kind of like when they say they are actually on some random military base, no worries I got a friend that lives out there that can pick it up for me with cash.

Ya that’s a sign for sure. I have a track record for almost spending a lot on internet scams. I get really excited for a good deal on expensive things. Then tend to put to much trust into people

So, i was hoping for 2.5”-3” lift. The 5100s up front seem like they will work fine with a diff drop and the right springs. But two questions. Is the 6112 worth that much more interms of ride quality? Is it true the 5100 is only good to an inch in the rear?

For anything over 3 inches you’ll need UCAs too to get proper alignment

If you’re just doing mild to moderate off roading the 5100s will be fine. Smooth on road too

well they must move around alot due to financial stress. Probably why the shocks are such a good deal, the guy just needs money fast. Now the guy is on a business trip in florida and the wife with the shocks is in North Carolina 2,400 miles in just one day! What a trip. Last time I drove from NC to California it took me 3 days of straight driving with little sleep.
