Why doesn't Costco gas carry the Kirkland brand name? When the oil does.

The Walmart Supertech is almost as cheap and has some testing results on par if not better then Mobil 1. I'd just go with that if it were me. I change it at 4k religiously and I think every modern synthetic oil won't break down in that short a time.

It’s fine, don’t worry about it.

    Work in progress...
I drank plenty of Kirkland tequila and believe me the oil should be just fine, just fine.

True, but it's not about breaking down. There can be big differences in the anti wear additives and detergents in them.

Eh, sure, but any GF-6A oil is going to provide very good protection for at least 5,000 mi.

Are some slightly better than others and might stay more protective over a longer interval? Sure. For example, Supertech Advanced is very likely better oil than vanilla Mobil 1. Likewise will be Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, Amsoil Signature, Mobil 1 EP, Castrol Edge EP, Redline, and a few others.

Dealer here used mobil1 0w20 extended service when they did toyotacare on my tacoma. I can't see wallyworld's brand being on par with it, or they would be using it.

What the dealership uses is more than what's better or worse. It's about supply, contracts, logistics, policy etc.

Supertech Advanced is actually really good. It’s made by Warren Distribution, a reputable oil manufacturer. Testing shows it is indeed on par with top tier stuff.

I'd need to see a 1 year, 10k mile oil analyst using it, before giving up the mobil1.

Use what you like but I've switched to Supertech 0w20 the last oil change since all my clearance sale Rotella truck is used up.
I looked in to it extensively. Warren distribution makes it for Walmart, Costco, and Amazon. It seems to do well in tests I've seen. Since in keeping to 5k to 6k mile oil changes I don't see any advantages to more expensive oils.
I will probably have a sample sent to Blackstone next time to see how it is actually working.
