    Opinions wanted.

Looking for new tires. 2015 DC Long bed. 3” lift. 4RUNNER TRD Pro 17” wheels.

    275/70/17 Or 285/70/17.

I like the aggressive look of the Kos n Nittos. I want something that does good on the road and rain and good in mud. Not doing any crazy 4 wheeling.

Im open to other tires I like the aggressive look but want to keep an ok ride and noise on highway.

    Thanks

I’ve got 285 ridge grapplers. Would buy them again. No experience with KO2.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285 KO2s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch.
The KO2s have been great for me, 285 70 17. Good weight 51lbs C load, tough, good all round tire.
Still getting around 17 to 20 mpg on the Hwy. Started with with stock size, then the 265 70 17s, and now the 285s - 7 years of good driving.
The Nittos look good as well.

I'm eyeing a set of ko2s based on price and reviews for 275/60/20 from Amazon. Ko2s are $50 cheaper than the nittos. I like the the look of the ko2, less aggressive, and ko2 sounds cool when you say it.

KO2's have the look, but my understanding is they aren't great in rain or snow. No personal experience with either, though.

Love the look and performance of my KO2's. Only thing I don't like is the traction in the rain but maybe that's normal for an AT tire.

I have KO2 C rating and they’ve been great to me, can’t complain. Been through moderate rock crawling, snow, mud, and I drive 90-95 highway and it handles beautifully. I do take it easier in the rain but only because of reviews

Just got back from CO and my Nitto Ridge Grapplers performed well in snow and mud. I did have about 300lbs in the bed and aired down.

A friend had KO2s Es on his 2nd Gen and did blow a tire on a real rough rocky 2 track. Not sure if it was the tire as I did not venture down there.

I currently have 265/70 ko2’s got them in 2016 and have put over 54,000 miles on them. Never had a issue. I just bought a set of 285/70’s from discount tire which had a $100 off instant flash sale.

Just bought Nitto Ridge Grapplers. 285/70/17. I was back and forth between the two. From everyone I talked to it seemed they both were good. KO’s maybe a little slicker in rain but lasted and maybe slightly better in mud. Grapplers maybe handled better? I went with the 4ply vs the 6ply or 10ply KO’s. Who knows right?

I've had both, currently running Grapplers and I'd buy them again. Can't say the same for KO2s

Debating between the 2. Thank you for the responses.

    Grapplers B rated 49lbs
    Grapplers C rated 55lbs
    K02's 51lbs

Are those numbers accurate? I've seen them listed all over the place.

I'm coming from K0s and I'll say they are great on the road and snow. Rain I think they are the same as anyone else. But the real failure is mud. Had to winch myself out up a moderate hill last year in my FJ cruiser literally tree by tree for 200 yards. Also had previous mud failures on off road excursions in Virginia. Failure as in no traction, slipping to the side into a tree, etc. I'll give the grapplers a try this time. Had the trail grapplers before that sucked in the snow but great off road, but looking for something in the middle!
