I received the KTJO Bolt and lock kit last week and was looking for videos of the install process. I found one in which the lighting is suboptimal. I found a bunch for the Pop n' lock kit but obviously this is somewhat different. The KTJO install pictures are of both kits.

Wondering if anyone knows of an install video to help a relatively newb out?

That's the video I referenced - a bit dark in terms of whats going on in the tailgate. If this is the only one I'm sure I can figure it out.

The wiring is also super confusing because it changed after the video was made. The button wiring instructions are also very poor. So bad that I gave up trying to install it. I'm having trouble with the tailgate not dropping and I can't even find a place to trouble shoot. The only instructions given are an email address in the kit.

Did you try removing the rubber plugs that the tail gate rests against? I had such a hard time getting my tailgate to drop then I removed the plugs and it now drops every time. Try it out. If it works and you want to keep the plugs you can try shaving them down until you get it to drop.

If you get stuck I can help you out. Just let me know. The instructions aren't that clear. I remember using 2 or 3 different set of instructions...just don't remember where I saw them.

My tailgate would not drop until I shaved the tailgate rubber stops down. Now it works every time. I have a manual trans and I am still trying to install the tailgate switch.

Thanks for the info. To be clean, I have only the lock/unlock actuator to install. No opener, no switch.
