Been meaning to do this since day 1, but never made it a priority. Bought and installed a Kenwood subwoofer, a small under the seat type. It's the KSC-SW11 and it's a small, powered 5x8 sub that fits perfectly underneath the driver seat.

It's amazing how easy it is to take these vehicles apart; 5 minutes in and I can rip the whole center and stereo out -

Snapped a quick pic to showcase how small it is before tucking it away for good -

I used to be such an audiophile, but those days are long gone. Now I'm more than content with the tiny bit of oomph added to my stock speakers.

Anything better or larger than what I bought would demand new interior speakers and external amplification.

It's funny that I had just purchased and installed my sub, because just this Sunday I was able to go on a last minute trip!

Was fun being able to hang out with @essjay and @Impoy47 again especially since it's been months since we last went wheeling together. But it was also cool meeting another member on here @Blue Canary

Interesting thing, I think Arnel found the appropriate name for my 4Runner - Unicorn

    Without further ado, pics!

Met up at AM PM in Sonora so after a few Hello's and topping off our tanks, we were off -

It's really interesting to see that within 20-25 minutes of driving, we were seeing over 2' of snow -

    20220102_113117.jpg

Beautiful really, until we had to make not 1, or 2, but 3 different stops due to the Jeeps ahead of us -

    20220102_130748.jpg

It was fun though I mean hell, Arnel even cooked up hot links and sausages

I hope someone got a pic!

Oh, a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. And it's stuck?

To those watching; after we took the time to unbury this Jeep, and shoveling out all the snow that was packed up to the gas tank/axles, what finally got this girl out was my suggestion to air down

We're good samaritans, I mean it's the TW way, so we had them drive between our convoy just to make sure they made it to the road safely.

Wasn't without a few stops due to opposing traffic.

What a way to start the year, seriously. Had a ton of fun and I can't wait to get up to speed on maintenance so I can hit the trails soon again -

Tossing this out to @LiquidArrogance since I know you mentioned you're not far from me.

Feel free to check out some of the wheeling pics I've posted in my build thread; I'm happy to hit anything from sand, dirt, rock, or snow. Mud too but I prefer to avoid it if at all possible.

When in doubt, let some air out.

So our group was aired down; myself I was at 12psi.

Anyway, when we were recovering the Jeep I asked "are you aired down?"

Had to ask twice, only to hear "I was doing ok the whole way here without airing down"

It's like, they were looking for reasons not to air down. I even offered up my compressor to air them up if they wanted to follow us only to find out they did own a compressor.

    :facepalm::facepalm:

I look for every opportunity to air down, I love a soft cushy ride when I'm on the trails.

Anyway, we aired the Jeep down and easily it crawled out after we shoveled all that snow out.

Looks like an awesome trip -- loving the license plate on the blue pro!

I submitted my request to the DMV for some Back to the Future themed plates a few months ago... but apparently is a 6-9 month wait right now before you hear anything (if you're lucky).

I've got to circle the wagons financially after shelling out for the wheels and lift kit, but should be able to snag some tires in the coming weeks and hopefully be ready for some fun. (I also need to quit equipping mall crawl armor for long enough to start building up the recovery gear basics, too!)

Took it to get smogged and gave it a quick vaccuum -

    20220117_114540.jpg

Just goes to show how well I've taken care of it since it didn't even need a wipe down inside. I haven't cleaned it since Sept or so of last year -

Let's hope it gets treated the same, or better, by the new owner :anonymous:

New owner will get to enjoy her on whatever adventures they've got in store.
