A clunk? As in when you hit a bump or just turning the steering wheel? How do they know they are shot? Sounds crazy. I always thought OME required less maintenance/more reliable than the other guys. Hope the warranty takes care of it.

Both. If I hit uneven cracks in pavement I hear a thump. And the other day heard it while turning (just once though). I asked them to check my skid plates, winch, and suspension to make sure everything was snug. They reported back that the front struts were shot.

    Diff it Update:

The drive home was quieter. Rode home with the stereo off to listen. At first all I heard was tires. Never heard that before. It was strange.

By the time I got home I could hear gears again - but much fainter.

Drive to work this morning was similar. Cruising I heard nothing. Slowing down i heard gears. Fainter than before. There is definitely a feel difference. The drivetrain is smoother. I was beginning to feel thins engage when I pushed the pedal down. Now I don't feel that jolt. So that's good.

I'm super paranoid now after having essentially 3 diffs in this damn truck though.

Maybe I should sell and buy the used Raptor at the car lot near home. It's only $45k.

I should try that. Because on Monday morning, all I will hear is that SC whine  after the reflash

    I'd love a S/C!

But... 6.0L v8 Raptor and exhaust? Then S/C that? I'd have to carry extra drawers every day in case I messed mine.

    OME Shock Update:

Local shop contacted their ARB rep for me. They've agreed that I fall under the 3 Year or 36k miles warranty. Going to hook me up with new shocks under warranty. And, since the 90001 shocks are the same cost as the 90021 shocks I have they are going to send me 90001 shocks instead. That'll be nice to have the stiffer shock to pair with my 886's.

    Diff Update:

All well so far. I'm just under 80 miles on the near 3rd member. Need to hit 500 for the break-in period so we can do the fluid change. At that time hopefully the replacement shocks will be here. If so, I'll have them mount the warranty replacement OME's, and spill and fill front and rear diffs together. Truck is at 34k miles and I like to 4x4. So I'm going to just do both at once and then watch that 30k mile interval going forward.

Then we'll get it aligned, lubed, and ready for Moab next month!

Nice new shocks for Moab. Small world, my brother and I headed to Moab next week. Wave if you see a MT white taco with 49' plates.

Oh yes. So... since my front IFS needs to be taken apart to put the new shocks on... I'm wondering if I should order a second trim packer for my OME setup. The driver side has always had the lean even WITH the OME trim packer. Wondering if it's worth having them put two on?

Not a 'spacer' fan but these trim packers are pretty thin.

Couldn’t get the time off for rock therapy. I’ll be down there 10/3-10/8. Enjoy!

Sent Gadget another email. Has been 8 days since he told me the connectors were in that have been holding up my MAF Calibrator order.

Ordered August 16, 2017. Today is Sept 27, 2017. The lack of communicating on URD's part is a bit frustrating.

Hit the 270-280 mile mark on my diff break in. Noise came back. Seriously wonder if I'll having have a truly functional 3rd member. At about 310 miles this afternoon.

Got my oil changed this morning. Cleaned the MAF sensor in preparation for my URD MAF Calibrator that FINALLY shipped. Should be here Tuesday. After $250 and a month and a half I sure hope it freaking works better than my useless O2 Simulator.

Also changed engine air filter and cabin air filter. Neither were very bad but I figure it's best to clean everything if I'm going to test the MAF Calibrator out.

Used an empty Mtn Dew bottle to catch oil from the oil filter. First time doing this and it helped a ton.

Only a couple drops on the ground.

I use about 4 ish feet of tubing (leftover from diff breather mod) run down to the drain hole in skid plate. Works great no mess.

Sucks about rear diff. I guess it's time to call Currie and order front and rear axles.
