    Hello everyone,

Need a little help from fellow Tacoma owners. I work a full time job, but work weekends as a licensed electrician picking up small jobs. I'm trying to find a good ladder rack set-up for weekend work. I cant justifying purchasing a van to work out. Here are a few options I'm looking at. I want to avoid drilling any holes in my truck bed. I need something usable for putting a extension ladder, PVC and conduit once in a while. All thoughts are appreciated.

How long of a ladder/pvc/ect do you need? Do you need full use of your bed for other tools?

I have a 6 foot bed. Yes, I will need to use the rest of the pick up bed for material and tools. Longest ladder would be a 21 foot extension ladder and PVC comes in 10 foot lengths.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
If you dead set about drilling holes i would look into building a Rack that sits in the bed on the floor .

You can then ratchet strap it to the tie downs on the front and rear of the bed corners .

This would allow you to design things as you need or change things as the need arises. The bottom support can be adjusted to spread out the weight as needed . Depending on the total load you need to carry.

Would you be loading pallets from the rear?? Simple to make the rear cross piece simple to remove .

This was the only option in a job no holes were wanted.

Loads supported by the side of the bed tend to spread the bed apart if serious weight is carried.

    Good luck.

I have a 20’ Taco with 5’ bed. I bought a STARK ladder rack, but it came without the accessories to attach to the bed. I don’t want to drill on my Toy, so I went to Amazon and ordered the THULE brackets kit. Hopefully that solves my issue. I’m a roofing contractor and rely on my 24’ ladders

Thanks everyone for your feedback! I decided to go with the BackRack for moving material.

Warner, the ladder company, makes a socket & post ladder rack. It allows the rack itself to be removed, which is required to use the city dump. The recommend a longer bed, but it works fine on my 6ft, at least for 10 ft pipe/conduit/boards and 24 ft extension ladder.
