Yeah, it isolates the winch from the battery, everything else stays powered.

So just switch this to ON before using the winch? Awesome

Depending on how and where you drive your truck you should consider the pros and cons.
My truck isn’t really a DD anymore but if it was I’d use such a switch. The only downside is that it will increase resistance- especially over time - and wear out your winch motor faster but again for a DD probably not a real concern

I try to drive the truck once a week. My build is "done" with the big stuff.

Well finally got the switch installed. With the stay at home order I was hoping this would be more then a 30 minute project to pass the time. It took 20 mins, not even a dropped bolt in the hard to get to area between the frame and skid plate.

super easy clean install. Thanks for the product.

Pretty happy with this bracket! Very slick solution.

Couple of notes from the install:
    1) Ended up installing a new ring terminal on the cable that came from the winch since it didn't fit over the stud on the switch. The X2O cable is a 4 awg with a 5/16 ring terminal, the switch accepts a 3/8" ring terminal.
    2) I needed to trim the vertical height of the beeper to fit on the switch bracket.

Glad to hear brother, huge thanks for the feedback!

Appreciate the feedback sir, glad to hear you are content.

In regards to note 2, you are referring to the opening for the beeper on the bracket itself, and not the actual beeper, correct?

Looks great brother, thanks for the photos!!

As an update, I am having some set backs with my previous manufacturing resources due to the virus shutting them down. I am exploring other options currently and am hoping to have the second batch of these ready in a week or so. Thanks to all of you who have asked questions, displayed interest, or have posted feedback/criticism!

I just trimmed the mounting tab on the beeper to get it to fit. Figured trimming plastic is easier than trimming aluminum.

It might just be me but I see 500 amp fuses every day. Im a forklift technician by trade. I literally have 4 on me at any given time while I'm working. They are easy to get ahold of online too. Along with fuse holders to boot.

Did you make the bracket or the larger switch or did I just miss an update?

I don’t doubt you, for me however, I ultimately prefer the reliability of the switch.

Got the bracket mounted up today, no wiring as there's no winch bumper yet but it looks cool so I'm doing it. I also had to trim the beeper to get it to fit, I'm guessing since it's made to attach to the tissue paper that is the front support it doesn't like the thicker bracket. Pro tip, test fit and trim it before you mount the bracket or you will look like you tried to pet an angry kitty.IMG_20200426_143126.jpg IMG_20200426_143331.jpg

Man that looks awesome! Digging the red!

In regards to the beeper fitment, do you think the powdercoat could have affected it? I designed the bracket to have a pocket milled out where the beeper slot is so that the thickness of where the beeper attaches to is the same thickness as the original mounting point for it.

I had no issues reinstalling the beeper on a 2019. After looking at some photos, it looks like the 3rd gen beeper is different than older models; maybe that might be the issue?

Externally it is, but the clipping portion is identical for both, I tested both the 2nd and 3rd gen with no issues as well. After some feedback however, I believe the clip on the 3rd gens is just a smidgen taller which may lead to a tighter fit, but I’ve changed the design so the slot is .050” taller in height overall to mitigate that potential issue.
