I would base it off of your re-gearing. If you can re-gear and get 35s you might as well go ahead and do it. If you need to wait to re-gear I would just wait on tires. I got all my stuff at once (other than re-gear) so my wife couldn't find something else to use the money for.

Oh I have 4.88's coming from ECGS right now along with a rear ARB locker. But after I send my cores back to them it's still like $2500 so I have to be realistic about more money spent on tires haha. If I could sell my 33's for the right price id probably jump on some 35's

Sounds like you already have a good plan in motion. I'm interested to see the difference in the rpms at 65 of 4.88 vs 4.56

Yeah man I'm stoked!! From what I've researched and asked a lot of people on here, the 4.88's aren't bad as long as you keep it around 65mph on the highway. And then when you are wheeling they are great! I tend to cruise on the highway, I don't really speed all that much. I also drive my wife's car to work during the week so I don't use my truck as a DD. I use my truck around my house to run to homedepot or errands and stuff and then use it mostly on the weekends and trips. I've had a few people tell me that they have 4.56 and wish they woulda went with 4.88's. Some people have told me also that rule of thumb is

    Manual transmission with 35's = 4.56
    Automatic transmission with 35's = 4.88

Manual with 4.56 because they run higher RPM's. Also Steven at ECGS recommended 4.88's to me cuz I have HC rear bumper with tire swing out, full size spare, sliders, bed rack, front bumper, RTT, all kinds of camp gear, etc.... So the 4.88's work well with all the extra weight. Anyways sorry for the essay hahaha.

I haven't taken any new ones with all this crap weather we have been getting. I know with the hankook dynapro mt the cheapest I could find a 35/12.5 was $1476 but I was able to find a 315/70 for $1080. Both prices included shipping so it was a no brainier for the same tires basically. Plus I like watching people's faces when they walk up and try to determine what size a 315/70 actually is.

I always check discount tire's website vs their eBay store. They usually have a rebate offer on one or the other.
