The top picture is with a filler plate in the hole, the bottom is with the filler plate removed and a light bar installed. The whole bumper is powdercoated inside and out.

ahh ok. I wasn't aware there was an opening already. I thought you had to cut a slot in it.

I will take some more after work. I ended up getting a rear solid panel and one with a window but I ordered it all from softopper.

Nice looking truck man! I have the same truck with a similar suspension setup and i was wondering how you liked the 886s with the bilsteins. I have the 887s now but once i added my pelfreybilt bumper my front end started to sag and i still plan to add sliders and skids.

I really like the 886 springs, I was used to cars with really stiff coilover setups so the 886 springs were the best choice for me. I liked the way they rode without any armor and I like how it rides even more with the sliders, bumper and skid plate. If I had to do it over again I would have researched coilovers and gotten in on one of the group buys but the bilsteins and 886s do everything I need them to do.

That's good to hear! I will probably switch to the 886s once i add skids, sliders and winch. Thanks!

Been busy with the truck the past couple of weeks installed the new differential and 3rd member from east coast gear supply with front and rear arb airlockers, new axles from cvj, stainless lines to the lockers from crown performance, spod and cbi ditch light brackets with some cheap pods.

Found another picture of the compressor installed with the stainless lines. Trimmed the factory intake to keep it out of the fender and added a thin piece of steel to block off the hole in the fender since the liners have been removed.

such a sick build man. I'm contemplating going 315/75r16s, or if I should just go up to 285/75r16s or 255/85r16s. I don't have the cash to do gears, but I have a couple friends who run stock gears on 34s and 35s and say it's not really a big deal. I know that's not the general consensus on TW though.

My question though, is it absolutely necessary to cut the flares back? I'm mostly worried because my HC pelfreybilt rear bumper comes flush to where the rear flares are, and it would stick out weirdly if I cut back the flares

I ran stock gears for about a year with the 35s before regearing it. There are plenty of people on here that keep 3.73 gears and don't have any problems out of them. For me it was just the right time to swap them because my wife and I just had a little girl and I could drive her car while my truck was down. Front flares are necessary to clear a 315 and I think they look so much better when front and rear flares are cut out the same. Here's a picture I found on Instagram of a way to trim the rear flares without having to cut the back bumper.

This is how I would have done it if I planned on a high clearance rear before I trimmed the flares but now I have to cut up a brand new pelfreybilt bumper lol

Thanks for the great info. Good to hear the stock gears is survivable! I would eventually swap them down the road and throw lockers in too, but it's just not in the cards at the moment!

I agree that it looks bad if only the fronts are cut so that's an interesting option for cutting the rear flares to match. Not a huge fan of the way the lines are all wonky though. I wonder if there's a way to cut them to keep the lines cleaner. Or I might just cut the bumper back anyway.

I've also been thinking about just removing the flares altogether or seeing if bushwacker or somebody has flares that would clear.

stoked to see your truck with the new rear bumper! Gunna be sooo dope!

Pelfreybilt rear bumper is installed but still not trimmed to match the shortened flares. Installed the shackle flip kit from Archive, bilstein 5110, all pro u bolt flip and wheelers superbumps. Having some trouble with the rear brake lines not wanting to come off so I can install the extended lines.
