    iv got a 2008 sr5 4x4 dbl cab long bed. i was wondering if anyone has successfully fit a 285/70/17 in the spare tire compartment? thanx

    Both a 265/75-16, and a 265/70-17; both approx .85-1.1" taller fit without mods, and tire/wheel assy overall diameter is the limiting factor. Some have fit larger by trimming the brackets that centers the tire as it is wound upward, but I can't remember how large. Do a search, there are some who cut the guide brackets and have pics, and since the 285/75-16 and 285/70-17 are the next logical taller choice, there should be some comfirmation.
