anti lock brake disable mod, fogtime anytime mod, Leer Topper, all pro plate bumper, toytec 3 inch lift, bfg AT, rims, piaa 5100's, some double din head unit (cant remember), warn 8000 winch, DO sliders, hacked frame to fit full size spare, thule and yakima roof racks
So my dog took to chewing on the center console right before I deployed to afghanistan. No biggy she just broke the latch that hold the console closed on my 05 tacoma right?? I was just gonna have it fixed while I am gone. NOPE the part (so I am told) is like 300 bucks. I havent spent any money for 6 months but I still refuse to pay 300 bucks for a little tab and spring that you push in to open the console. Any idea were to order a new one. My old man has checked junk yards ect but funny thing, Its damn hard to find an 05 tacoma in a junk yard. Go figure. Any ideas???

    check out: http://car-part.com

Search for interior parts - then call some of the places that pop up - should be able to get one from them

It's a great resource and saves a ton of time calling around :)

    My 2006 broke also.
Dealership said I had to buy the entire console ($300) just to get a latch.

    Here's how I fixed mine:

Open console lid, remove 5 screws holding inner cover on. That will expose the 2 screws holding the latch to the lid.

Once the latch and holder is out, you'll see 2 slots in the holder. I went to Home Depot and bought 2 #4 self tapping screws. Replace push button into holder to mark where to pre-drill holes to install screws. I had to shorten the screws with a bolt cutter, and leave the screws loose enough so the release button slides easily in/out of the holder. I got a replacement spring (no idea where my original one went when the latch broke) that fits over the pin on the release button.

Reinstall, and you should be good to go .
