Thanks for this post! I Purchased my trucked used on Saturday night.
And the Maint Req'd light started flashing today along with a beep. :(

I should make them change it for free.

Thanks for all the input on how to reset the Maint Reqd light, but I have a somewhat different issue.
I had the oil changed when I purchased the 2005 truck in early November. On a recent trip from Texas to Tennessee, the Main Reqd light came on, however I have only driven about 2,000 miles since the oil was last changed. I checked the oil level and clarity and all seem fine, so I'm hesitant to run out and change the oil, when it appears to be fine.

Anyone else seen or had this issue? Should I still change the oil?

    Thanks for the input.

That just means it's been 5K since the last time it was reset. So if you've driven 2K miles your oil...Someone changed it about 3K before that. So reset it again and keep tracking your mileage.
When you hit 5K (or your OCI)...swap it and reset the counter again.

Alright for some reason my 2011 doesn't want to play nice.

I set it to show the odometer...
    Turn the key off.
    Hold down the trip button.
    Turn the Key on.

    Nothing.............

I've tried 20+ times held for as long as 60 seconds. It just doesn't wanna do it. WTF.

Related to the previous poster...someone in another thread said the 2011 uses a different reset procedure. I searched and found it here

Thanks for the info on re-setting the light for a oil change. Had to read it twice---Hold down the re-set button before turning on the power---then it all works---------LB

Mann I'm glad this is all that light means, it came on and stayed on this morning. Changed the oil for the first time about 1,200 miles ago and never reset the thing (guess previous owner didnt either?). Driving 500 miles this weekend and do not want to stare at that thing the whole time!
