After doing some research on the forum, it seems like personal reviews from everyone are generally really positive with the LC Engineering Header for the 2.7. My purpose for buying one would simply just be the best way to get a little more torque available down low in the rev range, which the header seems to accomplish.

This is where I need help. My concern is the noise level of adding a header.

If I were buy the LCE header and keep everything else bone stock on the car, is there anyone who can share what the drone/noise levels are like in-cabin? I reached out to LCE, and they referenced a video that has the header with an aftermarket exhaust that I know will simply be too loud for my taste.

I'm expecting a little more noise, which is fine with me. However, I want to be able to drive along the road and have a conversation with someone, without the conversation drowning out to the engine droning and buzzing as I push/stay on the gas pedal.

If anyone has any experience or videos they could share, that would be a TREMENDOUS help to me and my future purchase!

I dont have one, but I really doubt putting that header on it will make it louder without changing the muffler.
The factory exhaust manifold isnt the big cast iron style that used to come on cars that would block out a little valve noise or whatever. Its looks like a header as well compared to the old style cast iron type.

    Thank you both.

BassAckwards, would you say you've noticed any sort of gain in your low end power once you installed the LCE header? Even with running your stock catback exhaust?

I would say there are some low/mid range gains to be had. I remember drivability being a little better after installing the header. Didnt seem to struggle as much going up the hills where i live. I have the 5spd but i think an equal length setup is a great addition for all of these 4 bangers

That's exactly what I'm looking to accomplish. Just a little extra power to get me over some hills/long grades without needing to take deep stabs at the throttle to keep my momentum going. Especially if cruise control is on.

    Appreciate it!

I can second this, I have it installed with factory exhaust. Almost no audible change, maybe a slight rumble if you heard it in a garage setting. Power gain is noticeable down low, easier to maintain speed and less lugging in the higher gears. Go for it!

No change in mpg. No noise change to me. Butt dyno feels slight more umph.

My observations, OP, may be coming a little late, but the biggest difference pre/post LCE Header was drivability on the Interstate. Of all different driving situations this was by far the most noticeable.

I’ve had my header for about a year now, along with the OME lift that I did at the same time, and I no longer ever have to downshift to 4th gear at any point on any drive between Houston and Dallas on I-45. Before, when I was at stock height and header, sometimes I would if I was driving into a stiff headwind.

But now, and with 3+” of lift, I do not. My truck feels no faster, but it just “holds” its speed better. That’s about the best way I can describe it.

Oh, and I have a little extra exhaust sound at around 3,000 rpm when accelerating. It isn’t loud, not even a growl, more like an increased resonance.

The LCE header is good for about 25hp and 20 ft lbs of torque, it is very noticeable, well worth putting on your 4 banger. There is a slight increase in exhaust noise.

What about interstate speeds when cruising 70mph and above? I appreciate the answer from the 2nd gen 4banger dude above you, but his setup is different and his rig significantly lighter. What about you?

I have the LCE header with a flowmaster super 44 muffler and stock exhaust. For me it has eliminated the jumping between 4th and 3rd on hills, pulls harder from a standstill and sounds pretty good.

Got a video by any chance? I've looked up so many exhaust videos of the 2TR and they all sounded like Civics to me which I dont want.

I will try and record one in the nex couple days. I like the flowmaster for the performance along with the LCE Header the sound well let's just say it's hard to get rid of the 4cyl "Civic" sound you will always have that sound somewhat from a 2.7 4cyl
