That's the big question. I am not sure. I love mine and have zero complaints so far. I am curious about the 285s so if I did switch to those it would be more because I am curious. But if I go that route I'd have to do a CMC, which I am not sure I want to do. So until I decide that I'll be sticking with the 255s.

I know the feeling! That was me back in October. Size was bothering me and then brand and type. It was insane. Let me know if you have more questions. I hope my input helped. It's just hard because I've never run the 285s so I couldn't say if I'd prefer them to the 255s

 

It looks like I'll be getting about $1100 to fix my bumper....now its time to start bumper shopping.
Any recommendations??

 

For $1100 you can get into an SSO slimline with a Smittybilt X20 winch. Functional, light, and super clean look. Perfect setup with the 888's. You won't have to worry about front droop on those coils that might come with a full bumper. Love mine and running almost exact lift and tire combo as you with zero issues.

 

I mounted mine in the center console. Easy and clean install if you decide to give up on the Velcro.

 

Hey, thank you for that! I actually upgraded my radio to a smaller version and it fits nicely in the cup holder lol.

If you want one that sits a bit higher C4 Fab makes a very similar bumper. Roughly same weight/price. I had a tough time deciding between these two. C4 Fab has a bit more squared off look. I think the SSO one flows better with the lines of the truck but in the end it boils down to taste.

 

I have been looking at C4 as well. I think I might send some pics of the damage to SSO and see what they think. I would hate to buy a new bumper and then still have the damage showing. I am also considering the CBI T3 bumper.

There are just way too many to choose from.

 

Another (sim to the SSO) to consider would be US Offroad. Looks like they're working on a 3rd gen model.

I like the SSO bumper. Cool that they're so close in Baton Rouge.
