in time, thats the plan anyway. Some triples up front. I liked how it landed though, i still need to bump the compression tubes on the rear a touch.

I picked up a used Tepui Kukenam RTT a few weeks back and got some replacement parts for it and finally had the time to swap the bases and mount it to my vehicle.

just out of curiosity what was the story behind the damage taken by the tent???
the grip tape protection idea where the ladder legs hit/rest when closed is a good idea, when i got my used tepui i did the same thing since there had already been some wear damage showing

from that part of the tree incident, yeah it protected the rest of the bed in a way.

The tent wouldnt fully open and the canvas was being tugged weirdly because the new angles on the base.

The swap was easy though, very thankful i got the deal i did on it.

I was able to get out with the In-Laws and go camping this past weekend. it was a lot of fun with the new RTT. It was fairly cold at night (low 40s) and we were plenty warm inside the tent with just a sleeping bag. We even kicked off the blankets because we were warm enough. We woke up to everything covered in moisture as it was really foggy in the area and the tent never dripped on us like our previous ground tent had. So needless to say Im extremely happy with it and cant wait to use it more.

Naturally after a weekend of using it i have a mile long list of things i now want to do to it and buy for a better camping experience. I noticed a small dent starting where the ladder lands so i grabbed some remnant commercial waterproof double stick carpet we sell and cut and stuck it to the base floor. This will add a little padding for the ladder so it hopefully wont beat up the base floor, and its weatherproof.

Another member here was selling a black cover which i wish i could have had the chance to purchase in the kit but i was not able to. So i jumped on it and it looks better than the grey on top of the runner.

Started the work on my rear cargo drawer system. Im using an existing plan set that was released but changing some things to my own personal liking and finishes. I got 90% of the drawer portion cut out and routed, now i need to cut the ends for over the wheel tubs and assemble. Its going to be a full drawer on the left side and a matching large drawer on the right side but the right side will have a place for the camp stove to sit. Under the stove platform a small drawer that pulls out with a pop up platform for a table/bar top with storage underneath. This should come in handy and help out packing and organizing whenever im out on trips.

Should be able to have some assembled photos next week.

Nice work, is the indent on the right side for a stove?

Sweet 4Runner! I will be picking up a 2004 v8 limited same color as yours on Saturday. @Wishbone Runner sent me the link to your thread. I must say it has given me inspiration.

I didn’t like it at first but it definitely grew on me after I started modifying it. It’s crazy what this color should look like and what it does look like now because the paint fade.

Getting to finally resemble a drawer set up. The left most cover is just laying there so its not level and at the right height. I'm going to probably place a 1/2" plank underneath to keep the boxes level as they seem to dive into each other. Then im going to secure each side to each other as well.

Going to the fabric store to grab a somewhat matching felt to cover them in. I have the right drawer face done as well, finished it after the photo.
