Ok, so apparently I'm either stuck buying a bushing kit and hoping the lower bolt doesn't ever seize to the sleeve or what about since I have the greasable bolts in the (daystar?) lift shackles pressing out the bolts in the factory shackles and drilling out the holes to fit the larger greasable bolts?

Would that be too ghetto fab? Will I kill a buss load of nuns by doing this? Anyone care to enlighten me?

Missing a sleeve ?? Is the shackle bolt loose in the spring bushing ??

Gotta say I'm having trouble understanding what the issue is but I guess you could drill out the bolts in the stock shackle to accomodate the other bolts but hows that going to affect the shackle end spring bushing ??

Ahhh, I think I got ya now.. as long as the fit is good , you could get away without running the sleeve I guess, if going back to stock tho' I'd just get a torch & burn that old bushing out & knock another one in

Fit is currently pretty snug so nothing to worry about being loose between the bolts and bushings. Just want to make sure I'm not doing some big no no to the factory shackles.

Thanks, I just skimmed through your spring thread in your sig. Looks like I'm not the only one that likes mix matching leafs. :) I'll update this thread when I get the job done. I want to remove the lift shackles and get more arch in the springs and hopefully get a little more load carrying ability. Also don't want the leaves to go so negatively arched when wheeling. I got some overload leafs out of a early 90s ford 1 ton, original leafs off my 67 Mustang (2 of which are currently installed) and should get a overload off a ranger this weekend. Might take a few weeks before I get this done but hopefully will turn out better than what I have.

Edit: this might need to be moved to suspension.

Haha maybe... Why all the overloads ?? & if you want a little more lift go track down an old chevy truck (70's-80's series) & bag a few leafs

I'm just using what I already have available/got for free. That's just where they came out of on the old ford. I just plan on putting some of them under the factory leafs. Definitely ditching the Toyota overload.

Been thinking about the Ranger overload for a while and saw it done here: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1s...ow-build-little-taco-could-2.html#post5755858 Wife use to drive one and it's just sitting at her parents with the head off so might as well snatch them up.

How thick are the chevy leafs? The Ford truck ones I have are ~.290" Mustang leafs are .250". I think stock Toyotas are .250 also?

I just did springs on my 96. The bottom bolt on the shackles was bigger than 14mm, the sleeve for the new springs was 14 though. Everything appeared stock.

Thanks for the offer, but I literally just drilled out my factory shackles to fit the larger bolts in my current shackles. I guess keeping the greeasable bolts I won't have to ever worry about the bolt and sleeve seizing.
