Hmmm, read somewhere that its not a good idea to have Air Bags if you offroad due to them getting ripped up or something while flexing or going over whatever.

Thats kinda what I was thinking but I know David K wheels his new truck, didn't know what kind of abuse he may have put the old on through.

This came up several months ago, and I was asked if I would sell them... at the time, I wasn't sure the new Tacoma was going to need them. They are just the way the dealer took them off, a bit dirty... Maybe I will clean them up and photograph them... With the 5100s and installation cost, the total upgrade to my 2005 was just over $800. I am not sure what the value of just the air bags are... They were installed late in 2007 and were removed in Descember of 2009... So only two years of use.

No abuse, just four wheeling in Baja on 'roads' and in sand... It is my only vehicle... I use it for my work and any driving during the week... so I can't abuse it... can't afford to hurt the truck on purpose, plus I am over 50 years old so I am not as wild as a lot of you kids!

The Ride Rites are made by a tire company, and yet they never touch the ground... there is no wear, never filled them over 45 psi (didn't need to).

I'm not buying that over 50 crap, most of the guys I enjoy to hang out with are in that vicinity, and they pull more bullshit than I do. Suppose it has to do with experience too. I'm more conservative when it come to my truck because she is my daily driver also. But I enjoy driving 7hrs to a spot, wheeling hard, yet smart all day, spending the night then driving 7hrs home.

Yah, okay... it is really more of being a lifelong four wheeler/ off roader than being 'old'!

The Tacoma is the best built medium size truck out there... It can do tough things and not break or need 'adjustments' (like my friend with a Jeep Rubicon is always doing!

That said, they slipped up bad when they put soft springs on the Off Road Tacomas in '05 to ? requiring the TSB add a leaf. I am glad my '10 has good ones.

LOL. I just got quoted $700.00 for shipping to Puerto Rico... I guess thats a deal breaker for me and I cant find an OME dealer in PR... what a pain. Doesn't make sense to me to pay for shipping almost as much as for the parts themselves. Any of you know of any company that ships heavy items and doesn't charge an eye? I might just be able to ship to my brother and then he reship to me.

Oh, I didn't know you were after a full body lift... I thought you wanted to solve the harsh ride issue. That was entirely due to soft springs in the rear. The Ride Rites totally solved that issue to my 100% satisfaction, as well as gave me an adjustable rear ride/ height ability.

If you want an entire new suspension, why not work with a 4WD shop on your island... There's got to be one, I hope! If they don't carry what you want then ask them to get it to you through their supplier on the mainland, shipped on a container with other stuff they are ordering... to reduce the shipping...???

Well, originally I was not sure about getting a whole new suspension. My biggest problem is the rear, but there is also problems with my current suspension that go beyond the rear and beyond the springs.

Also, ive looked everywhere on my island and sadly everyone wants to shove Rancho, KYB and Monroe up my ass... and honestly im getting pissed off. Havent found anyone dealing with OME and most dont even know the goddamn brand... even a suspension specialist shop said they didnt know what OME was... There are some options but I dont love them. Also, getting the Billsteins here might be a pain as well... as most shops bring some stuff but not the 5100's. Imma do some more checking tommorrow but im to the point where im just gonna buy some used TRD shocks, some new leafs over here of whateverthefuck brand and call it quits. Not being in mainland sucks donkey balls...

Oh and also... some sites are being full of shit... shipping to PR isnt really expensive if they used their heads... sadly most arent willing to go beyond their usual ship methods. I got a quote for $300 shipping which I guess is fine, but none want to try it.

I love you... in a non weird way... got some energy to keep on looking, and alas, in the deepest darkest (not even 5 miles from my house) part of this goddamned island, I found OME distributors... and they can get it. YAY!

Small question that I will probably get bashed for and laugh at... :p

The OME suspension im getting is supposed to give me 1.75 lift in front, and 2.75 in the back. I dont really care too much for the lift... but will I need new UCAs or for the alignment? Im not sure if im asking the right question or if its not even related but id like to install all I need to install at once, and not have to take apart the damned thing 20 times.

To get the alignment back to stock yes. But you can ride it as long as you wish with stock UCA's. I did for a while then got new UCA's to increase my travel and approve me angles.

Ok, I am glad you found a shop that will work for you on it. How does one get a vehicle to or from Puerto Rico to the mainland? Is there a car ferry ship or only cargo ships to trasport to Miami or where ever?

Well, although there is not a ferry that carries cars to and from mainland specifically, you can sort of do it both ways, as there are companies that either specifically ship cars using whatever method or you can also contact a company and send it through a regular cargo ship.

The import tax kills us though. Also its a pain in the ass dealing with government offices here, so if someone was to do it, its worth it to pay the company to deal with all the paperwork.
