    there is a better than even chance my radiator cap is the very original the truck came with
    i shall keep an eye onit,
    it certainly cannot last forever?

    you can buy an “auto” radiator, it’s mainly all they sell just. Just means you will have tranny cooler lines at bottom that will go unused, no harm there!

    I just bought a Denso one on Rock Auto, looks OEM to me (but I haven’t installed yet!).

    Same here on the Denso from Rock.

    On one of my cars with a manual transmission where only a radiator for an automatic is available, I stopped by a parts store and bought some vacuum caps to cover ATF lines. Not that it matters.. I just wanted to cover the open ends.

    An auto radiator would be better because it’s larger in size than the manual
    BUT, it hangs down lower, so might hit the stock 5 speed skid plate section under the radiator might be different with less ground clearance of 2” inches
    and the shroud will be different because it’s a larger radiator so might be a 2” gap at the bottom that doesn’t match up perfectly.

    The auto radiator is 2” or so in total height that is added on the bottom
    Section of the radiator. Everything else is the same.

    Ok good to know, I have a ARB bumper and also 4x innovation skids that I have yet to install so I’m unsure of how much room there will be. I would think it would be fine though... since the skids aren’t transmission specific.

    When I bought my skid plate there were two available.
    One for the 5 speed and one for the auto.

    The auto skid plate drops down 2” because of the taller radiator.

    The 5 speed you actually have more ground clearance on the approach angle
    because the radiator is shorter

    There is a possibility that company only makes one type maybe the auto and that would cover both radiators.
    There are companies that give you a choice if you wanted the extra 2” clearance with the 5 speed

    I was also kinda looking at the OSC radiator. Seems like more people go with the denso though.
