Has anyone else experienced this problem? I put LED's in my dome and map lights. Problem I have is that when I have the dome light set to go on when the door opens, when I close the door the light stays on very dimly unless I manually switch it completely off. Not a timer issue, over 10 minutes and it was still on. Here are a couple pics I took with my phone - 1st with the light in "On" mode, next when it should be off:

HID's, LED Dash swap, LED reverse lights, 15"x10" 5 slot mags, sliding rear window, 20gal aux. DS fuel tank,
Sounds like you have a residual voltage difference in the circuit that you didn't notice with an incandescent bulb, but easily noticeable due to the low voltage required by the LEDs.

I'd grab a multimeter and check to see what the constant voltage you have to it when the switch is in the different positions. You may have a bit of a faulty switch.

    Just a few LEDs...
Since the dome light is controlled by an electronic circuit, there will always be a tiny amount of voltage and current leaked by. Some multi-chip LED bulbs/modules are more sensitive to this than others due to the way they are constructed. A single LED can emit visible light with very little voltage (less than 3 volts) and very little current. You wouldn't notice this with an incandescent bulb because it requires far more current and voltage than LEDs.

That's kind of what I was thinking. just sucks having to forego my dome light coming on when I open the door. Might bite the bullet and put the stock bulb back in, at least the map lights will still have the extra ooomph!

You could try a different LED bulb. I got a cheap one made by "pilot" from the auto parts store.

Superbright LEDs has a few to choose from.

Maybe some other members can tell you what they got and where they got it from?

Great idea, thanks. I got mine from Jumpers LED's as a kit. Did send an email asking if he has heard of this happening before but got no reply.

I've replaced everything on the truck with LEDs and got just about everything from Chris (Jumper). PM him again. He's always gotten back to me quickly. He and his wife just had a baby so it might take him a bit longer than normal.

The dome and map lights were just about the only ones I didn't get from him but I do not have that problem with mine. I did however experience it in my last car (Mustang) with a cheap eBay kit
