Hi guys , I was wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for LED HI/LO beam lights? Also I wouldn't mind matching fogs. I have looked around haven't found that many.I came across a brand called opt7 anyone know if it's any good? I have upgraded all my LED lights on my 16 Tacoma with diode dynamics they are suppose to release LED HI/LO beam some time soon but not sure and want to replace mine asap! Thanks for any help!

I had opt7 LED lows and while they are a different color I wasn't impressed after the install. I was REALLY unimpressed the first time I had to drive in the rain. Recently moved to HID lights and they are WAY better... project out further and lights out more of the road overall.

I have the opt7 for low beam. I agree with the statement up above that in the rain they are horrible. But to my surprise they work really well in the fog. I will go back to stock bulbs.

I had the OPT7 Bullet HIDs (cheap product) for lowbeams and did not like them. I am now running Morimoto 2-Stroke 34-w 5500K LEDs for low & high beams and am extremely happy with them.

2-Strokes are good for low & high, but no good for fogs. They are too bright for dogs and will blind everyone.

I just installed the 2strokes in my low beams. Love them. It's been raining and foggy here and they work great. Such a huge improvement over stock. I have the Pro LED fogs so I can't chime in there. I'm thinking about putting another pair of the 2strokes in my high beams eventually.

In this pic, the drivers side stock halogen is still in. Passenger side is the morimoto 2stoke and the Pro LEDs are on as well.

Here is a pic of just the headlights (stock and 2stroke)

I highly recommend the 2strokes. Install was a breeze.

I have the Morimoto 2-Stroke LEDs for low beams and the high beams. I had to adjust the headlight aim to get them aligned properly. I love my headlight set-up now !!!

Your wasting your money with LED. They will never put out what An HID bulb does and you won't get good 360 degree coverage. They may look cooler than the stock halogens (color temp wise) but won't put out any more light, actually they will put out less.

    Check out the below thread. I think this will fit your bill;

If you want decent fogs I would get the esuse brand, the company that makes the Morimoto XB fogs that are plug and play. Email This guy from Rechelon he will take care of you.

    all tore up already
like i do on every led headlight thread i find, im going to debunk leds being a better light. they are a more even and more visually appealing light but do not put more light where you want it(down the road). everyone needs to understand this before being disappointed by a purchase. in the pic taken against a white wall you can see the "hotspot" the halogen creates. this is there for a reason. it allows the light to shine further down the road. the led is a far more even spread, but would you rather see everything off to the sides and down road evenly for 50 feet? or maybe a less even spread that covers 100 feet down road but only 25 feet to the sides?

ran opt7's for almost a week before they went into some ricers accord because they were unsafely dim. now have piaa leds which are only barely acceptable until i do proper hid retrofit. until they make a led bulb that throws light in a similar pattern as a halogen, leds will not perform properly in a headlight designed for a halogen

I'd disagree purely based on my experience with these headlight bulbs. Driving down alley's, poorly lit residential streets and really anywhere else I've been, I can easily see the throw is further than the stock halogens. And the light doesn't reach much more out to the side than the halogens did. It just feels that way because the light that comes out is all connected in a smooth pattern. I can't speak for how your lights worked, but the 2strokes are much better than the halogens in my truck. And thanks to the good ol' Texas weather, I've already driven through clear, foggy, rainy conditions in the week I've had them and I couldn't be happier with the results. In distance and smooth light pattern. I noticed you said that you had the Opt7 bulbs. I read more negative than positive on those bulbs and very little negative on the 2strokes. Which is why I made the selection I did. So this isn't exactly an apples to apples comparison.

Also, if you notice in the picture up against the wall I took, the hotspot on the halogens is as bright as the entire pattern from the LED. It throws that light further than that halogen hotspot did. And it's a larger pattern.

OP, you won't be disappointed in these lights. Although, I would agree that HID's will be brighter if that is what you're ultimately after. I have very little HID experience. Never owned them but I have been in the passenger seat in a vehicle with HID's and they are definitely brighter. Even properly aimed (I assume) and in a stock height truck, we still got flashed a few times.

Hope this helps, good luck with your choice!

I put in Saber LEDS from DDM and I like them. The throw is better but not HID good. Still better than halogen IMHO. I liked the easy installation with the LED. DDM has a 40w version which might give you more throw now.

The Two Stroke bulbs are $120 and won't work as good, even though they are good bulbs. The hid kit will cost 80 bucks, provide more light, and leave you with money left over to put toward your fog light purchase.

I would buy the Morimoto/Esuse fogs but these look decent and may be worth the gamble, look plug and play.

I could be wrong, but I don't think those in the link will work on a 3rd gen.

Not to throw this topic off, but has anyone considered Sylvania Ultra Bright halogens? I installed these in my wife's RDX and they are truly amazing on dark country roads.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008BE04C6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I ordered a set for the Tacoma as they are definitely an upgrade over stock at a fraction of HID cost and installation time. This will either be permanent or temporary depending on whether or not I come across an amazing HID system.

Interesting. Would you mind posting a side by side comparison of the stock bulb and these when you install?
