    Hi Everyone!

I have a general thread in the newbie column but thought the "Lighting" forum might be a better format.

We're a VERY small company called FLYZEYE Designs, LLC. gearing up for full release but would very much like some Tacoma owner feedback before we invest too much. We're already $40k in.

Dual-Color operation: A 3-position slide switch selects between OFF/Primary/Secondary color. Four standard color sets are available as well as custom configurations made to order for a nominal charge.

Our bench-tests using a Blue/White unit powered ON and adjusted to full bright with new batteries lasted well over two weeks (powered ON 24-hours a day, seven days a week). We've been getting between 6 months and 1.5 years on the prototypes. (This product has been in development since early 2006).

The units start at $37.75 + shipping. (updated August 2012)

Also, the units are magnetically mounted to the mounting plate. A total of (10) neodymium rare-earth magnets are pressed into both the injection-molded cases and mounting plates for a secure yet portable unit. (You can use it to find that quarter you dropped under the seat!)

Halos are precision-machined polycarbonate and provide both control illumination via (2) green 3mm backlighting LEDs for the TSDC system. (In this photo: the raw halos are being lit by a green LED. The halos are a translucent non-colored polycarbonate).

The TCMA-0511 V1 cases are injection-molded PC/ABS by Xcentric Mold & Engineering, Inc. PC/ABS is comparitively expensive but is a very tough engineering-grade plastic. Our cases are painted by Apex Plastic Finishing, Inc. and matched perfectly to the 05-11 TOYOTA metallic silver paint of the interior dash plastics. It is the same 2-stage paint used by the factory and is NOT cheap. Most of our suppliers are US based companies. While manufacturing in the US does cost more, we feel it's well worth it!

We destructively test our designs to ensure a high quality product. In this photo, my 2007 PreRunner's left front wheel driving on one of our first production units. This is legitimate which is why we back our products with a 3-year warranty.

Right now, we only have this TCMA-0511 V1 center console light in various color schemes. We are beginning new designs but until we recoup some of the $40k invested already ($10,875.00 for the mold alone) we won't be able to release anything else. So far, the feedback has been VERY positive. The reality, will be how well the units sell.

    Suggestions?

    Regards,
    Darren LaFreniere

ps - The, "...not too in your face." comment is appreciated. This concept serves both functional lighting needs as well as some personalized ambient lighting. It can get VERY dark in the vehicle on lonely roads.
