This is pretty tempting. The overall ease of installation makes it worth the price IMO.

i think i would be more amped to get the hard wired option due to the face that i dont like changing batteries at all.. batteries just = more expense in the long run. and the comfort of never having to worry bout enough bat power is a plus.. i would not mind drilling a small hole to run a set of wire.

Good question (previously addressed earlier in this thread) in short, the unit itself is magnetically mounted to the mounting plate - no issue here. The mounting plate is 0.062" (1.6mm) thick and does present a very slight obstruction. However, the AC control panel can be removed without excess difficulty. You will need to apply a very slight upward pressure on the mounting plate while removing the AC control panel but it will indeed come out.

    A few bolts are different.
Great! but, lighten up the actual fly, it is what people will remember/identify your product/name with. It is the "visual", that describes the name.

Edit: If you're using photoshop try a little bit of "outer glow". This will make the Fly more prominent without actually making the fly brighter. Play with opacity and adjust to your liking.

last design i like...i'd change the colors to match the rest of the logo though...have a blue bottom of the fly fading to a grey maybe? look almost like the blue is reflecting off the letters on the bottom of the fly...

Thanks, that last one was my favorite as well - The software I used to create the lighting effect unfortunately does NOT give me the control to select the colors I'd like. I'm also working with CorelDraw which might solve this... Also, we want to animate the logo for certain applications on the website - buzzing wings etc.

    that looks better.
I dont think the green and red looked so healthy. one idea-
some sort of Refractions or octagonal facets would be cool -to make it more realistic... with the rest still abstract.

not that you want this much gruesome detail, but I just googled 'fly eyes' and here are two of the images that are pretty fascinating. [IMG]
