Looks great!! I did this about a year ago along with the map light/dome light mod. You guys should think about doing this mod yourself!!;) What it does is it turns on the map lights whenever the dome light is lit up like when you open your doors or when you lock/unlock your truck.:) Plus you can just use the map lights like normal as well. I got some cheap LED lights for my dome so a lot of the LED's are beginning to fail and giving it a strobe light effect. It looks gay so I need to get some better LED's for it in the near future.

I mentioned in a previous post that I ordered mine from superbright's website. I couldn't figure out which ones I need to order so I went with the 2 recommendations that were mentioned here for both the map and dome light. Did anybody order headlight bulbs from them? Do you have a part #?
I was looking at the map/dome lighting mod, I came across something but I didn't bookmark it, can someone please it? Noob, can you tell? :)

I changed my license plate lights out from the single white LED to the cool white 5 led bulbs and it looks much better. I am also gonna put the 5 led amber bulbs in my front marker lights as I do not like the look of white bulbs in there. Hope everyone is enjoying this cheap and easy mod.

Thanks thai fyter for reposting the original mod with pics and the update of the brighter license plate lights. Also, thanks to Rakso for posting up his pics of the brighter map lights. I went with:

(map lights) 921-x12 Wedge Base LED bulb Cool White 921-CW12

(lisence) WLED-x5 LED Wide Angle LED bulb Cool White WLED-CW5

For the dome light I purchased both the 4410-x9 and 4211-x6 since mceagle555 said the 4211-x6 was much brighter. With the brighter map lights I thought I would see which went better together.

(dome light) 4410-x9 LED Festoon bulb Cool White 4410-CW9

(brighter dome) 4211-x6 LED Festoon bulb Cool White 4211-CW6

I was going to replace the third brake light with LED's but decided to replace the whole thing. Just bought this off of e-bay for $95 with free ups ground shipping.

Thanks again fellas for posting up your mods. Oh, if it isn't already I vote we make this mod a sticky.

    Hey Krusey,
I just installed the 4410-x9 and i was hoping they would be brighter. The map lights are BRIGHT I'm loving it!!! so you think the other model for the dome light makes it brighter? I might just order a new bulb and see.

No dude the 4211-x6 wasn't any brighter. I actually thought the 4410-x9 was brighter and went with that. I know what your talking about though. I like how bright the map lights are and thought the dome light would look better just a little brighter too. I havent taken any comparison pics but I will tonight to show you guys what's up. I'm thinking about doing the map light mod. Both on together is more than bright enough and looks good. Over all, the LED's look great! Thanks again fello Taco owners for sharing the mod

The dome light appears more blue unlike the maps that are more white. I'm guessing because they're brighter? I just browsed real quick but the High Power LED Festoon Bulbs look good. I'll look more later but I'm thinking about trying one. Like the 4210-xHP12 & 4410-xHP12. Says the operating range is 8-30VDC. We'll see if the colors match up with the maps.

I replaced the license plate lights and feel like they are too dim. I used:
WLED-x-x LED bulb (120 degrees viewing)

I need to judge them by driving behind my truck but, standing back there, I think it's too light.

Just don't want to get pulled over for something stupid like that.

Alright, just ordered two High Power LED Festoon Bulbs for the dome light.

    (1) High Power 6-LED Festoon bulb Cool White - 7000K 42mm 4210-xHP6

    (1) High Power 12-LED Festoon bulb 42mm 4210-xHP12 Cool White

The 12 LED is 360 degree light output but might be too bright so I ordered the 6 LED just in case. They were a little more expensive being High Power ( $26.90 for the two + shipping ) But hopefully one of them looks alot better and you guys only need to order one of them. Should be here within a week. I'll keep you updated and post pics when they arrive. :D

did you order extras after you installed the 921-CW12? I have the latter and I think it is more than enough unless you want your passengers to get a tan :D
I just wish the dome lights were brighter but a six pack of blue moon will help doing the map/dome mod :drunk:

Hahaha No dude that was a typo. I corrected it. I meant to say dome light, not map. Yeah, the maps are more than bright enough. The ones I ordered are for the dome. Yeah for sure I'm doing the map/dome light mod this weekend as well. I'll probably go for the Sam Adams Cherry Wheat though. Sam Adams is a horrible beer but the Cherry Wheat is a diamond in the rough!

    Yo Krusey,
I think I changed my mind on the map/dome mod. The map lights are superbright and if you just give enough time to the dome light to warm up, it lights pretty well..I'm still on the fence but let me know how the new ones turn out
