    Hey all,

There are tons of LED bulbs on the market so it's impossible for me to get a feel of what others are using. Besides the MESO Customs LED package, is anyone running LED brake lights in the stock taillight housing? If so, can you point me in the direction of ones you like?
    Thanks!

If pursuing this route be sure to get red LEDs for the brakes. The red tint on the brake assembly is designed for a ~3000k light source to make the light red. If you put in a ~6000k light source with a white LED, you'll have pink brakes.

I ended up purchasing the MESO Customs total tail light package. I love the amber turn signal.

I'm thinking of doing this too. Did you have any hyperflashing issues?

Get the VLEDS VTAIL. As for hyperflash, SR and SR5s have more hyperflash issues than TRD. I’m not sure what resistor you need but you will want to grab some of the plug and play resistors VLEDS sells.

Why VLEDS over Meso Customs kit. Just curious. I know nothing about either.

They designed the original Meso switchback bulb, Meso knocked it off and didn’t use it. Better quality red bulbs. The Meso switchback being a knockoff has a slightly delay in the amber blink compared to the rest of the truck. Not an issue on an SR5 because no mirror turn signals…on a TRD with mirror signals it’s obnoxious if you pay attention. Better parts availability. The Meso are more likely to need a replacement and having to rely on Meso having parts kind of sucks because they rarely do. They’re essentially the same kit, but the VLEDS is better in a few ways.
