My truck goes in for the extended warranty housing replacement soon. So I was looking at plug and play led bulbs. What do you guys recommend. I'm not looking to do a retrofit just a simple upgrade.

    Halogens.

Nobody has a reliable LED, so if you want LEDs, keep a back up set of bulbs in the truck since sooner or later (sooner seems to be the reality) you'll need headlights to work.

I posted the review of a all the common halogen replacements earlier. They all tested out very similar to each other.

VLEDS has reliable leds for headlights. No issues with mine at all.

Do you have any pics of the output and cutoff by chance?

I'll try to take some pics tonight, but even with my Rigid Duallys light output is hard to accurately capture through a pic. All of my lights appear much brighter/crisp in person than a pic shows.

The cutoff is not perfect like with a properly installed projector HID setup, but I don't get flashed by oncoming traffic either. It's a direct bulb replacement.

Sure, what are you looking for specifically?

I've had them for over a year now and they haven't melted anything, the light output is fantastic, installation was easy, and they come with a stout cooling system.

I'm assuming you mean not perfect like a projector HID, I'm just hoping to avoid that excessive spill created with HID H4 bulbs. I appreciate any pics and understand there will be limitations.

I totally forgot to take pics last night, but here's one this morning showing the cutoff in the parking garage at work. All of the light scatter above the cutoff is actually from my DRL's.

Yeah it's pretty good for not being in a projector housing. And like I said above, I never get flashed.

I'd love a picture sitting on a dark street to see what kind of illumination you get with those if you'd be so kind! :)
