So... I just installed some LED Tape that I got from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HSF66JO) under my bed rails. Being a network monkey, I had some extra Cat5e cable and used that for the wire runs. already shielded and, having 8 24 gauge wires, I used 4 for power and 4 for ground.

I replaced the pocket on the left lower dash with the three switch plate, and plugged into the unused Bed light harness (It didn't come with the light or switch since I have an access cab) with some mini-fuse taps (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CQDRRA) which let me plug right into the harness without tapping or splicing wires. ;-)

with both strips lit up, you can certainly see them during the day, but *really* lights everything up at night!

Do you have any pics of the switch tap and how you wired it? I've got the same Cab and would love to wire some bed LEDs this way!!! Any details would be great to have! Thanks in advance.

There are three bolts on the bottom of the panel that you need to remove, and then just pull around the edges. It'll pop off.

That small panel with the switches and cubby just unsnaps if you carefully pry around the outside with a plastic interior removal tool or something similar to protect from scratching the dash area. The Cubby and lower switches are all on the same piece. Cubby is screwed on from the back of the that piece. I added a switch for my Dash Cam where he has the Clutch Start Cancel switch.
