Leer 100XQ Question

    Question for you leer 100XQ owners... I've had mine for about four months and the windows don't seem to be installed properly. There is a gap around the bottom and I can actually fit my finger underneath. They seem to fit with the rubber gasket, but it doesn't look right. I can see it every time I look in my side mirrors. I noticed it during the install and asked about it but the guy said it was normal. I just saw one on another truck and it seemed to have a nice flush finish. I paid a lot for this topper because of the clean look of the windows. I can post some photos if need be.

    Here are some photos. I called Leer the other day and they said I need to take it in and possibly have it sent back to them. Anyone ever have to deal with them on a warranty issue like this? I'm worried it will take a long time to fix.

    Wow, looks like a problem to me. No adjustments possible. Is the gap just at the corner there? That just sucks. I have a cap distributer within 20miles of me. It would suck to have to wait for "repair".

    If you were the buyer, is it possible to return it and have it replaced instead of having to drop it off and wait for it to get sent out an repaired?

    Take it back. The installer may be able to correct it or at least inform you of what will be required.
    IIRC the 100XQ is the one piece window that bends to open.
    I shied away from that and got the 100XL.
    LEER's quality has declined in recent years.
    My drivers side (cap) window was installed to far forward (not centered in the opening).
    The glass actually buckled or bunched up the new paint where it made contact.
    I pointed it out when picked up but considered minor if it remained that way.
    The paint has since cracked and the cap is going back in the spring for repair.
    My windows are flush
    Fix that window before it falls out :eek:

    not normal. mine are not perfectly flush but not nearly as bad as that

    Get it back to the dealer ASAP. See if they have any other 100XQ's in stock for comparison.

    The side windows in my XQ are flush.

    If that dealer continues to say it's normal, find another Leer dealer or contact the manufacturer directly.
