Leer cap fitment ?? And wiring

I have a 2016 access cab 6ft bed ,will the same cap fit a 2021 double cab 6ft bed? If so, where do I tap in for brake light power and battery power for interior light?

 

I would guess it would fit. As far as wiring, I would avoid tapping and run a wire with an inline fuse to the battery. This is how mine is set up. I have a 15 Amp fuse. Brake light would.d have to be tapped via taillight

 

More than likely, yes, but just measure your cap and bed, as well as the bed of the 2021 and you will know for sure.

 

For tail light, I recommend using one of the harness available from one of the TW members.

I just got a message back from a local Leer dealer. He said the access cab and double cab caps are 2 different molds.

 

Make sure you clarify that you have a long bed double cab. (Most double cabs have the short bed, and that's probably what the Leer dealer was basing his reply on.)

 

I went with this to wire my brake light: https://www.ezwheeler.com/products/...ug-in-t-harness-300200?variant=32202985766995 It was spendy but also brings an always-hot 12 V directly into the shell. I used the 12V to hook up some LED strips to replace the weak battery powered dome light.
