So far, 2 kids' booster seats and 1 infant seat all on the rear seat. Right now, running stock. Planning to take my time with the modding to see what I really need.
Not much. I had to add a little more silicone at the front corners because of how it dried. I decided to do it myself because I already had the material and I would have had to make an appointment at the installer. Doing that myself took about 1 minute per each side. And this pretty much stopped the water getting in at the front.

I do get some water in at the corners near my tailgate.

Now my issue is that my bed is dirty from all the family ski gear and i need to get water in there to clean it out. 1st world problems. :annoyed:

Note: emojis aren't so fun anymore when TW is in B&W.

Now that I can actually see how this top was installed, I have more confidence that I could do it myself. But previously, I couldn't find any photo/video examples of how the rails and seals were placed.

If I were to do it again and by myself this time, I think I would have used painters tape at the front of the bed where silicone was applied in the corners for a cleaner install.

One thing I am now noticing - I am seeing a lot of rubber dust sitting on the bed rail tops, where the tonneau rubber gasket sits on the bed sides. Is anyone else seeing this?

Thanks for the pictures. I was going to install the 3M on top of the bed rail. I'm going to have to reconsider that assumption now.

I'm in Canada and bought mine at Canadian Tire.

If you are in the US (which you probably are) then this piece of information was useless.

So I ended up ordering this finally and got it from Amazon for self-installation. Total before tax: $971.14 Estimated tax to be collected: $67.98 Grand Total: $1,039.12

Ordered Aug 11th and received today, Aug 17th.. First thing I see when opening the box is the cinch latch plastic is broken off, so everything is sitting in the box still for now. Amazon wants to send me an entire replacement and Leer contact is pretty much non-existent but I'd like to try and get the piece from them. Bummer so far but seeing other users experiences not unexpected so far.

Wanting to check the rest of the cover out and the only other issue is the plastic piece for holding up the cover which I saw as a pretty common issue.

Reached out to leer, will probably glue the cync plastic latch piece back on for now as the rest of it is intact and in good shape and try to get a new part as well as the other broken plastic piece.

Last edit.... So one of the screws in the rail connectors doesn't look machined, anyone else have this?

    Top most screw...

Keep us posted - I'm interested in the HF650M and the HF350M. Wondering how this ends and how it looks after you install.

I picked one of these up off Facebook marketplace this past weekend. Thanks to everyone in this thread I felt really informed making my purchase. Especially what potential shipping damage to look for.

Leer now has a YouTube video up for installing this cover which definitely helped fill in some of the gaps in the printed instructions https://youtu.be/OdSJni770Qk.

Haven't had to wash the truck yet so I'm not sure how well it will keep water from seeping in, but so far I'm really happy with it. Ordered my power tailgate lock yesterday so that'll be next weekend's project.

Does anyone have a long-term review of this cover?

It looks like some of you have had this installed for over a year, are you still happy with the Leer HF650M? I'm thinking of going with this over the Bakflip.

I've had mine on for 16 months now and it is holding up great. It shifted to one side slightly. Seems like some fasteners had loosened up. Once straightened out and retightened, it hasn't moved since.

I really like it's function. It latches well at the tailgate and is secure in the folded and tilted up positions. Very weatherproof as well.

    Thus far, very happy.

The one thing I don't love is - when it is folded up against the back window (not that it actually touches, but you know what I mean), the plastic hooks for storing the support rods when not in use are prone to getting hit and possibly broke. For example, if you were to slide a big piece of furniture or a fridge forward to rest against the folded up cover it will come in contact with those plastic clips. They will either damage your load or break...or likely both.

@PEIHank Thanks for the reply. After looking at the pics again, I see what you are saying about the plastic clips, that's great to be aware of when loading. Doesn't seem like a big deal, could always use some velcro one wap, or a piece of shock cord if the clips break.

Any concerns or issues with the covers rubber seals sitting on the track instead of the hardcover sitting on the track like the bakflip? Probably overthinking this, I should just order it!

I'm not sure I can picture what you mean. But I have no issues whatsoever with the way it fits or seals. You might have to play with the front to back positioning to ensure you get decent coverage/seal at the tailgate. But the sides fit very nicely.

Would you guys give an update on how these are holding up? and how often you actually fold it up? I'm still trying to decide between the HF650 and the bakflip. I've also wondered about modifying the rails on the undercover to expose sections of the track.

Mine has held up pretty well over the past two years (wow it's been two years). Until recently I parked outside so it was exposed to the sun and rain (no snow because I live in Northern California). Some of the hard plastic has started to fade a bit but a bit of 303 protectant improves it. Have had no issues with the flexible plastic hinges.

I don't fold it all the way up too often but I do open it a lot to get stuff in and out of the bed. I have taken it completely off a couple times and getting it back on an aligned is pretty easy, although I would recommend having two people lift it because it is cumbersome and just heavy enough to be dangerous.

I'm still really happy with it. I have the tailgate power lock mod so it makes it feel just like having a trunk which is awesome. No fumbling with extra keys.
