So my left ankle has been bugging me while I was driving my 3rd gen, last truck was an 01 taco.

I pulled up the carpet and looked at the drivers left foot rest. It's made of styrofoam and is huge

It's retained by two white nuts, grab the footrest with both hands and rip it out.

I marked two inches on it and cut away with my ESEE 5 knife.

Reinstall and enjoy two more inches of foot room. It also felt fine with the whole rest removed. I'm going to give the carpet and floor mat a few weeks to adjust, if they don't conform I'll do some cutting and trimming or work with a heat gun.

Next is the window switch mount in the door panel. My knee grinds against it. THE WORST LOCATION EVER!!!!

Huh, didn't think they could cheap out more than the lump of plastic they called a dead pedal in the 2nd gen.
