I tried doing a search of this but came up empty. Is there a mod out that will alert you if you leave your headlights or parking lights on when exiting the vehicle?

I happen to leave my parking lights on one day and I think they shut down automatically after a period of time. Can anyone confirm this?

    Thanks...

on the 2nd gen. tacomas.....the lights shut off automatically when you turn the key to the off position.....so you're good to go as far as that goes.

Yep, those guys are right on! you have ghetto daytime running lights in the 08. I just turn mine on when I drive at night or go to the bar (Don't wanna get drunk and forget...DUI sucks), rest of the time I leave them off.

Thanks guys, guess I could have read the book or even tried it to see what happens myself. Nice to get the replies though.

Guess the lights go back on if you left them in the on position once you put the key on again?

you have ghetto daytime running lights in the 08.

Not exactly sure what you meant by that. Ghetto daytime running lights? Maybe I should look at the front of my truck in the daytime...? lol

I mean they are not true daytime running lights, they are normal lights that instead of remaining on (like most cars w/o automatic on/off or daytime runners) they turn off with the interior lights and other acc's. when I used the term "Ghetto daytime running lights" it was an attempt on humor. ;)

To add a bit to the way things function...
The driver's side door has to be opened to turn off the lights. I left my wife in the car and she turned it off and left out the passenger door. When I came back, they were still on.

Also, if you want your lights on with the engine off, just turn them off and then back on again while the engine is off.
